It’s been a fantastic 12 months since I joined my first offline event with the local NYC chapter of WBers. Unfortunately, my time in NYC (and the US!) is coming to an end. Come March, I will head to Germany and set roots there, but before that happens I would love to have one last hurrah of great wine with you all.
Theme: Great American Wines
Let’s honor the great country that has welcomed me for the last 7 1/2 years. Bring any American wine(s) that you think exemplifies great quality winemaking and/or terroir. Let’s try and capture a good range of styles. 1 or 2 bottles per person should do the trick.
As host, and because I need to dispose of much of my cellar before moving to Germany, I will bring 4+ bottles.
Date: Feb 11 at 5:30 pm
Location: Corkbuzz Union Square (13E 13th St)
Let’s try and keep this to 10 attendees. People are welcome to sign up for wait-list spots.
Looks good to me. I might be able to scrounge up some Great American Wines. I can offer you:
2013 Myriad Elysian Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard if you want Mike Smith
2009 Schrader BTK if you want Thomas Rivers Brown
1992 Dunn Cabernet Napa Valley if you want age
1987 Ridge Monte Bello if you want even more age
And that’s the Cab and Cab blend department. I have a few GSM and related wines as well.
put me down for a maybe. i have promised my hepatic system not to do 2 sequential wine nites. if the sherry event gets nixed or the liver transplant lists drastically shorten, i’ll be there.
The reservation is for 10 people. If you bring +3, that would put us at capacity. I’d like to give priority to people who are on the forum, but we can keep your extra spots in mind (you’d want 3 if I understood correctly?).
