Hearth will do $250 flat cork/no wine service but fixed menu for all parties
Ammos Estiatorio has no corkage Saturdays (!)
A few places I called have increased cork fees or eliminated corkage policies… I hope this is not a post-COVID trend
just sharing that we had a great dinner at houseman on greenwich street off spring. it’s sort of our local neighborhood bistro. $30 corkage, excellent food, a great steak frites, good crowd and service.
Moved away from NYC a few years ago, but two of my favorite steakhouses to go to for reasonable corkage were Keens and Club A. Both were $25, I believe.
Anyone know if Keens allows byob these days? If still at $25, that would be awesome.
everything is up in the air with covid but im pretty sure its more than $25 at this point. i recall a higher amount 2 years ago when i brought some bottles for my dad’s 70th birthday.
Virginias in East Village has no corkage Wed. Haven’t tested it with multiple bottles. Good enough stems and food surprised to the upside. Will be back…
Claudette $35 and happy to have you.
Jacks Wife Freida $35 a swell.
Balavanera Argentine steakhouse on Stanton, no corkage on Monday, otherwise ?$35?
The Smith $35
Avena $100
Haenyeo, Park Slope across from al di la on 5th Ave. Corkage $35. Wine list and cocktails are good. Had a kabinett Riesling that was enjoyable. Outdoor seating and indoor. Outdoor is covered individual tables with heating etc. (focus theme is seafood; great quality; well cooked.)
Any new BYO suggestions for Manhattan?
cervos in the lower east side charges $30 for corkage…served in crap glasses but goddamn their food is excellent. hudson clearwater charged $20 for corkage pre and post covid.
Quality Eats on the UES has a $35 corkage. Decent stems. Best Steakhouses In New York City | Quality Eats | Upper East Side
Fun spot. Nice outdoor dining space.
Upland $35 - 2 bottle max. The latter they failed to reveal when I inquired when making reservation. Manager was unrelenting until the 5 of us with 6 bottles threatened to bail on his very un-full lunch service. Called his boss who waived their “corporate policy”. Spiegelau stems. Very good food.
As someone who has had (too many to count) wine dinners at Stephen Starr restaurants, I assure you that the 2-bottle max is not a “corporate policy,” unless we were constantly getting waivers haha!
A few updates to the list:
Mishima is permanently closed
North End Grill is permanently closed
Manhatta is temporarily closed
Left Bank is currently closed for dinner on Sunday and Monday (which were their free corkage days)
l’Artusi - $40
Olmsted - $35
dinner at Marta this week. I was quoted over the phone $35.00 a bottle corkage and charged $25.00.
Marta is no longer gratuity included.
First time at Convivium Osteria (close to Barclays Ctr) in at least a couple of years. In advance, quoted $25 for 1st bottle and $10 more than the last for each additional (so, $25, 35, 45, etc.). Ordered one bottle from their interesting and uncommon list. Charged $50 for the 2 bottles we opened.
Stems are decent - Cabernet style with large bowls but clunky.
Food was very good to excellent.
