Wait a minute…no Boca??? ![]()
Nope
January
Drank 9
Bought 12
Net +3
I’m considering that a win in light of Berserker Day.
For the past year
Drank 109
Bought 140
Net +31
First net gain in a few years, and the reason I’m back posting in this thread.
I did not do well this month. Between Berserker day and discovering new retailers while snowbirding, I lost control.
In 64
Out 20
No Barbera?
Four in, eight out. You do the math.
Past 31 days, don’t think I added any - none that I remember, at least - but I drank a bunch.
Think I’m getting the hang of this . . . .

No Berserker Day purchases???

I’ve adopted the @David_Bu3ker approach.
Never. Not a fan.
Shall we keep naming wines that begin with B or assume I listed the ones I meant? ![]()
Nor for me. I bought a case of Goodfellow on BD 5 years ago, but that’s the only time I’ve bought wine on BD.
A not worth mentioning month (but doing this for transparency)
In = 0
Out = 2
I mentioned Boca only in fun since I know you are such a Vallana Boca fan.
A month of no success at all, drinking very few and adding bottles to inventory that I’ve been buying in Italy but left in my cellar there unregistered. Final result is +62 for the month and the goal of annual reduction of 300 bottles seems hard to reach - but I’ll try!
o,k. start for the year:
5 IN, 5 OUT.
no more wine-buying, I swear !
however…
those annual Julian Haarts, Florian Lauer, Dr.Hermann…
As I’ve commented before, I never post my monthly net before the first of the following month. Normally, this is because you just never know when you might grab “just one more” bottle from the cellar on the 31st, or more likely, respond to some “offer you can’t refuse” wine deal that hits your inbox on the 31st, but last night a new one happened.
We went out to one of our regular places and of course brought a bottle. They were very crowded and apparently a very large party had arrived just before us so the kitchen ended up in the weeds and the wait between our apps and our mains was much longer than it should have been. At one point, the manager came by to apologize and say the mains were almost done, and she plopped a bottle of wine on the table and said “we just got this one in today, based on the bottle you brought, I think you’ll like it, please take it home and enjoy.” So you never know when a freebie might come along on the last day of the month with just hours to go…
Anyway, the new year/new leaf resolve is holding despite the efforts of fantastic restaurant managers -
-14 for January!!!

Not subscribing to dry January helps. Cellar started year at 1226 and ends January at 1165
8 adds
-12 donated to charity event
-57 Consumed or sold, more the latter but definitely enjoyed some great bottles
Net -61 for January
More land in Feb so i will slip some but my goal of at least -126 for the year seems plausible at this distance.
January: 16 out, 19 in - net 3 increase. Really tried to be a good boy the last couple of days… sorry to all passionate winemakers I didn’t take up on their crazy deals.
Like a lot of us in this thread, I set an annual goal to decrease the cellar (by 100).
Reduced the cellar by 3 bottles and that was only because I delayed my Carlisle purchase until the calendar changed (sorry @M_Officer ).
3 in, 3 out. I shouldn’t look at the B-Day offers few another decade.
