March 21 PDH - The Real Wine for Real People Table - ONE last minute opening!

With the advent of diabetes, it’s hard for me to justify wasting calories on tasteless wine. Hoisin sauce and wheat pancakes will be tough enough. So it’s time to put together a table for people who want to bring wine that is worthy of an event such as this. Anyone else want to join me? I will bring a bottle of Pahlmeyer 2001, 2002 or 2007. If the choices of others make it more appropriate for me to bring a Rhone Ranger, I will instead bring a bottle of 2004 Agharta. If you are interested in this table, post your interest and proposed wine below. Although my general attitude is to have as few rules as possible and leave wine choices up to the discretion of the person bringing the wine, I reserve the right to reject any wine that will require an electron microscope just to find the flavor.

Jay,

In the main thread, I mentioned bringing the 06 Ghost Horse.

I just tasted this with Mike Smith… 2009 Quivet Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Kenefick Ranch. Awesome juice.

And then there’s this CdP 2004 Domaine du Pégaü Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Laurence.

I can be talked into this 2009 Rhys Pinot Noir Family Farm Vineyard.

I do have a couple of Kurtzman wines. neener

Your table. Your pick.

Dan - I don’t know. They all seem appropriate and like I said, I only reserve the right to veto wimpy wines. Pick whichever one you want to drink. I think Mark and Drew may join us, and who knows who else, and they can also be counted on to bring some “real” wine.

I’m in! No idea what I’ll bring as of yet. Maybe a bottle of pinot for the duck, maybe a cab. Might be time to check in on the '07 Napa. If I can get up to offsite between now and then (doubtful), then I will present some other options. Looking forward to it. -mJ

I’m thinking that a 2007 Napa flight would be interesting. I have some Rivers Marie, some Charlie’s Patch, the Pahlmeyer and a few others.

I’m thinking of bringing a Meursault as a white starter just to needle Abooboo.

Let me dig through my '07’s and see what I have at the house…thinking Maybach, Larkmead, Herb Lamb, etc. I’ll look through the 'Cave tonight and see what’s actually here in house… -mJ

I was thinking of an 07 napa cab so count me in on this table

hmmm interesting idea Jay… Let me take a look as well.

We still have room at this table. As incentive, I promise not to talk miles and points (unless asked). [wink.gif]

Im in I will not bring a whimpy wine I think I have an 2007 blankiet or an 2006 grace. I’ll find something Jay will like

Want to sell your Burgundy Jay? I’m buying neener

Is that an acknowledgment that Burgundy has no flavor?

I’d like to join this table, please!

Well it doesn’t have this kind of Flavor

[resizeableimage=800,500]http://www.navtones.com/media/image/flavor-flav-roast.jpg[/resizeableimage]

or this kind of Flava either pepsi

Jay - I can offer up a 2005 Lillian, a 2008 Antica Terra Botanica, or a 2007 The Treat is we are going in a '07 Napa direction. I was planning on bringing one of those anyway. So let me know if there is still a “seat at the table”.

I think that the PDH back room will set up with 4 ten-tops, in which case Tom and Dave are both in. If it’s 5 eight-tops, then Tom wins and Dave can come over and share. I will check with Abooboo on the main thread and let you know.

Sounds good to me. Won’t be the first time I’ve lost out to Tom and I’m sure it won’t be the last.

Jay, if there’s room (I lost count), would like to join, could throw a 2006 O’Shaughnessy into the mix…

I’m bringing an '07 Napa of some sort, just have to figure out what and where it is…LOL! -mJ

OK - we have a 10 top so everyone is in and now we are full. I will now keep a waiting list for the best table.
