Los Gatos/Santa Cruz/Monterey Group Dinner #11

We’re planning to get together in the Santa Cruz area in January, please suggest dates and locations that work for you. Who can make it? All are welcome!

Update: 22-Jan at 6:00pm, returning to Mo’s Dumpling/Chloe’s Kitchen.

Thanks for running with this Uli. I am pretty flexible. How does Wednesday, January 22 work for folks? Anyone try Cavaletta yet? Would also be happy going to Mo’s dumpling again.

My schedule is a bit unpredictable for the next couple of months, but 22-Jan might work. I really liked Mo’s Dumpling, so I’d be up for a repeat there. We tried and liked Cavalletta, and I already asked them about our format back then, so it’s definitely an option. See Los Gatos/Santa Cruz/Monterey Group Dinner #10 - #6 by Uli_K for details.

I’m new to this group as I’m a Richard Frankel referral. I like in west San Jose near Los Gatos. I look forward to attending future wine dinners but not sure if I can make the Jan 22 date.

Best,
Chris Rauber

Hi Chris, nice to meet you! Any date that would work better for you?

Keep an eye on our next South Bay thread as well: Los Gatos/Santa Cruz/Monterey Group Dinner #12

Will do thank you. I don’t think I can make it over to Santa Cruz for it. I’ll watch for #12, thank you.

22-Jan still works for me so far. Anyone else in?

I’m thinking maybe Mo’s this time? Getting to Cavalletta on a Wed afternoon is pretty painful from a traffic perspective. I also have new old Riesling to share, so Asian food would work well.

Sounds like a plan. Mo’s on the 22nd. 6:00?

Sounds great, let’s do it! I’ll add the Roster to the OP.

Time to make a reservation- who can make it?

Looking forward to seeing you all today! As always, no theme, bring cash & stems.

Room for one more?

Ian made the reservation, but I would be surprised if it’s an issue. Come on over!

Really nice to be back on the Westside - great food and wine, familiar faces and some new participants. 2025 is off to a good start!

A special toast to Jim Clendenen, with his first commercial bottling. Tom’s SLH mystery bottle took us on a wild goose chase. Great Riesling, from Australia to Germany. Grease pencil bottle was a 2008 Kieselsandstein from Jochen Beurer’s library.

Was a great time out. Loved the Donnhoff and the two Syrahs. Wonderful food and really fun company. Thanx all
