I know Le Macchiole has one as does Pride Mountain with their “Vintners Select Merlot”. Can some one name some more wine producers (whether they are “vineyards” or “wineries”).
Please post URL’s when possible.

Petrus
Andy Beckstoffer’s Las Amigas. Although some chardonnay is grown there as well, just no other red varieties.

Are we talking “vineyards” or “wineries”?
I know “CH. Petrus-Pomerol” wines are considered merlot but are they 100% merlot? As their vineyards I read are a split of 95% merlot and 5% Cab Franc. No wine shop website seems to list the breakdown if there is. Or none that I’ve found. Curious.
Tenuta dell’Ornellaia’s Masseto & Fallatoria Petrolo’s Galatrona are two 100% merlots worthy of mention.
Thanks Oliver. Will Google them and maybe add to my list of “100% Merlot” bottles to sample. I’ve always had blends.
La Fleur Morange Mathilde.
While true that Petrus plants 95% Merlot and 5% Cab Franc, most of their recent blends have been 100% Merlot. On rare occasions Cabernet Franc does make an appearance, such as the 1.5% it contributed to the blend in 2008 (2009 remains 100% Merlot). In much older vintages, however, looking back to the 1960s and beyond, Cabernet Franc may have paid a much greater role, as much as 20%.
Thanks for the info J Wei. Do you remember where you got this information? I’d like to have a look at a list of vintages and their breakdowns. Have Googled but haven’t had any luck. Odd. Easy to find breakdowns of the blends involved in most other wines.
Will look into La Fleur MM. Thanks KP…are you sure it’s 100% Merlot? Or are you thinking of a particular vintage (or vintages)?
Average of 90.8 points in 40 community wine reviews on 2005 Château La Fleur Morange Mathilde, plus professional notes, label images, wine details, and recommendations on when to drink.
Chx. La Fleur de Gay (Pomerol) and La Gomerie (St-Emilion) are both 100% merlot.
Gracias LMD. Didn’t know La Fleur de Gay was 100% Merlot.
La Fleur Morange Mathilde is always 100% Merlot to date.
Casablanca lapostolle duces Alexander. 100% merlot.
Might not be very “useful” for people outside of Switzerland but Ticino / Tessin growers tend to focus on Merlot.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ticino_(wine_region)
Most of the wines don’t make it across the boarders and are consumed here within the country but I happily attest to their quality. If you happen to be in / near to Switzerland I would suggest giving the Merlot’s from Ticino a try.
Nine Barrels Merlot from Shinn Estate(North Fork Long Island , NY) is a very nice drinking dry wine with good complexity. From the same region also try Paumanok’s Tuthill’s Lane Vineyard Merlot. Both above are well integrated wines that drink well early and can handle aging for further improvement…Gary
Avignonesi’s Desiderio bottling is also 100% Merlot, IIRC.
Tenuta dell’Ornellaia’s Masseto & Fallatoria Petrolo’s Galatrona are two 100% merlots worthy of mention.
+1 especially on the Galatrona.
Casablanca lapostolle duces Alexander. 100% merlot.
Did you mean “Casa Lapostole”? (http://en.lapostolle.com/). If so, they only produce 1 Merlot blend called the Cuvee Alexandre. Which is 85% Merlot.
Also, I found out Avignonesi’s Merlot is also not 100% but 85% merlot…http://www.avignonesi.it/eng-prodotti.htm
Shinn Estate’s “9 Barrels Reserve” is also a blend (http://shinnestatevineyards.com/FrameSet.htm).
Thanks for your recommendations anyways guys.
In the future can every one please post the company URL’s. Appreciated.
La Fleur Morange Mathilde is always 100% Merlot to date.
You’re right Kris. I confused it with “Ch. Lafleur”. I should have been looking for “Ch. La Fleur Morange”. Found out this is also a “value merlot” at roughly $25.00 USD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhOuDDn-tnM). Will definitely pick up a bottle to try.
