Liparita Cellars on WineBid

Victor, It seems you may have found the best deal of the year so far. Have you located any other deals recently? Looks like you have a great track record. Thanks in advance.

Thank you. I expect distressed liquidations by 2021 of winery libraries, especially older vintages, and also personal high-end cellars. Stay tuned.

Drank these two side by side about a month ago. Sisters from a different mister, 22 years separated. Different styles but both great. The ‘91 Merlot was a magnum and was still drinking excellent.

A steal, no!?

One bottle was, one was not. You get one guess. [wow.gif]

Sorry about the “not”.

My last glass tonight of that 1996 Cabernet was the epitome. Its noise gushed forth with deep, dark, complex fruit notes, a swirl of pan-warmed Asian spices, eventually finishing with ample black olive, garrigue, smoke, and espresso. The palate and vibrant hue reflected so too.

I opened my last bottle of the 96 Liparita Cabernet last night, and it was as dead as the other 4 clunkers. The fills were all into the neck, and the corks were pristine, but my bottles were all horrific. Silly low price though!

The ‘90 was solid, and the ‘91 was excellent…reminded me of the 86 Gruaud Larose!

A couple merlot magnums still in the cellar, ‘90 and ‘93, fingers crossed.

So sorry. You can drink my good bottles, when able to be in Noo Yawk.

Pobega’d a 2006 Oakville fresh off of the UPS truck. Classic napa cab with plenty of fruit to last another 5+ years. 20-25$, hard to beat.

Have had two of the '99 cab magnums lately. The Reserve was OK, the “regular” cab was terrible. I don’t think the bottle was corked, as best as i understand that, but it sure was not good. I have had better luck with other Liparita vintages from winebid.
