LastBottleWines.com (Last Bottle Wines) Deal Discussion Thread (Part 2)

Thanks for the tip, John as I never heard of this winery. I’m in for one '18 mixed reds but will probably buy 1 or 2 others today. I checked my wine spies orders and I never bought any, probably because they were beyond my budget.

Buy a second mixed black if you like Zin. You will regret only having one!

I’m on the lookout for their Abel 1833 wine from Mt. Veeder! :eyes:

There ya go

Grabbed a second based on your current, and previous, recommendations. You’re insight is always appreciated.

Worth the double dip John?

Grabbed two 2013s. Think that might cap my marathon.

Welp, I was weak and went back to buy a third bottle. :joy:. Never had this one, however.

John, I’m in for 2 of each based on your recommendations! Of the 10 more to go are you looking for anything particular? First time I have purchased wines from this label.

Mixed white 2014 says the only white of the day so looks like no chard :frowning:

Missed the 1833 while logging in! Hopefully pops up again

Was hoping for some Chard, so disappointed if there won’t be any. I see they made a Petite Sirah and a Batula Vyd Zinfandel, so I’ll be on the looking for those and a more recent Abel 1833.

I already have some of this 2017 Mixed Black in my storage, so easy pass for me. Plus 2018 > 2017.

bummer, I was a pass on mixed whites even at $25 I don’t trust those grapes with extended age

It sounds like their 2011 Abel would be worth pursuing if it comes up but I’m tapped out. Seemed like an okay marathon for my first go around.

Why? Never had it, but generally that was a very tough vintage.

I was going off CT reviews and google results.

Interesting how the 2013 Abel was predominantly Merlot and Malbec and 2014 is predominantly Cab Sauv from the same vineyard.

2 notes, one from 2020 other from 2016, other giving a humorous 100 points. Sample size in CT way too small.

These Abel deals are not excellent, but good if you already know what you want. Would have been nice to see them land between where they are at and what they were asking for the Mixed Blacks.

Edit: that said, I couldn’t help myself and grabbed one of these and two of the 2013.
