LastBottleWines.com (Last Bottle Wines) Deal Discussion Thread (Part 2)

Was too late for a 2nd mixed reds but did just snag the '14 Mt. Veeder.

I am going to buy one of a few vintages and try them. I will take the risk that they sell out. Hopefully Last Bottle can get the wines shipped a little quicker this time. Seems like a decent deal but not a screaming deal.

I wonder if they bought Elivette levels of inventory of this.
That way even after the marathon they will still have the same offer available on request to refill.

Just hard to get excited at this price point, reviews generally suggest these are quite the bruisers.

I have other wines that I love with certainty and will buy at this price point. Big pass for me.

Yeah I got one just to see but hard to square the value proposition compared to Elivette lol.

AI says the Edge Hill 1833 Able has been selling for around $120 at wine auctions. With the lack of information on these wines and a $59 price point, I will only buy a couple of bottles max to try.

2007 in Winebid right now for $62. $120 sounds ambitious.

Yeah, basing this all on my love of the 2014-2016 Mixed Blacks that I paid $60 for. There are just not too many ā€œfield blendsā€ from Napa, hence my one of a kind comment. While I do agree that this Abel is not the same value proposition as the Elivette’s. I’m still getting a few each to try and have fun with, having never seen them in the wild before!

Lol. I’ve been eyeing the 2016 Elivette on winebid. It’s being auctioned at 80 on winebid with at least one active bid. I’m slightly tempted to pick up another of these at double the price.

I think I’m done for the day. I bought 2x6 PNs, 6 Gamay and 6 cheap SBs.
Awaiting a case of chard and a case of Riesling from Sabelli.

Think that rounds out my collection and balances all the past Syrah that I overbought :woman_facepalming:

At that price Im tempted to dump my 5 or 6 cases of Elivette to Winebid!

Ditto. Super psyched. Should be here this week.
Value on that is way beyond anything you’ll likely see on LB.

Created this buying guide with Claude in case it helps anyone: https://claude.ai/public/artifacts/8e29e51a-9cd2-4737-a35d-76c87de8a8f2.

A bit late but hope it helps. Also, this is meant to supplement your own buying decision so rely on it completely at your own risk. Cheers.

Thanks for the guide. I see that the Abel '14 is back up. Based on your guide, I 'm looking for the '10 and '13. Mixed blacks, '14 and '15.

Dude, strong work. Can you share the prompts you used to get this nice result?

Bit more involved than just prompting but happy to share the process. Will shoot you a pm. Happy to share with anyone else interested, just reach out via pm.

I had a 2013 Edge Hill Mixed Black recently. Really terrific wine. $60 isn’t exactly a deal, but I ignored the whole weekend of purchases and decided I’d take 2 bottles of the 2014 Abel. Only marathon purchase. I just don’t have the attention span or time for the all day watch anymore.

Didnt the mixed blacks sell at 40? Thought the abels were 60. Im not a buyer, but 40 seemed like a solid price

I’m curious if any of you have used a marathon strategy of basically buying all the Edge Hill or Ellivette offered and then afterwards cancelling the purchases that you didn’t want as much? I’m hoping some vintages I want will show up later today and if I buy, I’ll cancel 1 or 2 that I bought earlier that are probably not as good. Does LB deal with cancellations quickly and easily?
