How much was the Leonetti? Weird that they put it up after hours and not during Power Hour.
It was $89 I believe. I should not have blinked.
I try to stay away from marathon buying but 100% do not blink on the great ones as they go very quickly.
There was some 2010 Sauternes I tried to buy but it was gone by the time I went through the process and clicked buy.
Other than that, very unmoved by the wines and prices I saw.
Which is good, I really donāt need to buy stuff I so t live just because itās cheap.
Nothingburger for me so far this marathon.
Yeah, it may be like that for me too. I actually kinda wanted another bottle of mystery Shafer Hillside or I was looking at the Gravner, but I just missed it. Honestly, itās really hard to keep your attention on these and not really worth the stress of a day refreshing a screen to save a few bucks. Theyād probably sell more bottles in some other format, like a one day flash sale on first bottle wine. But maybe they donāt really want to sell out. Not sure.
That said, I like the marathon and they do offer some decent deals if you are on it.
Shipping for the summer marathon has been particularly bad. They are blaming it on volume, but they have had months to prep. But heyā¦yeah lets go ahead and do another marathon. Theyāve sent me three other shipments in the mean time of non marathon stuff. I donāt get it.
I understand a lot of disappointment in shipping.
But their Elivette acquisition is probably something to the size theyāve never dealt with before Iām assuming?
Agree on that, and I dont think anyone is concerned about actually receiving the wine. While I have received mine, and agree it sucks, its also worth the wait for wines of this quality at this price. Id give them some leeway on this one.
The real issue Max, is that they ship at random times, without notice, and they donāt reply to specific date request windows. So often times they ship during heatwaves or cold snaps. The claim to do a state by state shipping window but they donāt seem to revamp the game plan for inclement weather.
I have had good experiences with them all around so this info is just garnered from others posting in this thread and their frustrations. Maybe the Elivette did bury them beyond their shipping capabilities.
As noted above, hopefully the new shipping software will help to alleviate these problems for many.
How did you know if was this?
I saw one Napa mystery for $45 and thought it might be the Artemis
BTW LastBottleWines is a BB.
Thatās all Iāll say.
Ah, it was in the last marathon. Was a good price for 2018 and wasnāt super hidden as āHillside Mystery Stags Leapā. Want to say it was $235. Not cheap, but for a cool special bottle and not having to pay $350.
This marathon was a dud compared to the last couple. I guess the Elivette made it worth watching
last time.
Itās likely that the LB marathons return to my tune out status. Iām beyond FOMO with them. Time involved is not worth the return.
Iām sure Iāll continue to check out the Power Hour but Iām pretty stocked up on Screagle, Tache and 6L bottles of dāYquem. ![]()
Maybe LastBottle just needs some competition? I e-mailed support two months ago about a card the system wonāt add and havenāt heard anything back.
I really like the company and concept but sometimes you can reach a point where you get too big to care.
Quite honestly, Iām fine if this Marathon is a bust. Bought way too much during the March and August Marathons. I need time to work through my inventory.
There are loads of repeat bottles that were available during the last marathon, so this one hasnāt been particularly interesting.
Iām still hoping that Saturday and Sunday have unique offerings. Elivette and Keenan were nice from the last event.
Iām okay if this is a lighter marathon for me as well. Yāall have made me very skeptical of all of these Decanter reviews haha
Have noticed similarly that bottles tend to show back up, not necessarily mad at that in case Iād miss something that I might want.
I donāt trust them at all
