La Tour d'Argent - Wine Menu at the Bar "Bar des Maillets d’Argent"?

Hey folks,

Looks like lunch at La Tour d’Argent is currently booked the days I’ll be in Paris. That said, the rooftop bar above the restaurant has caught my eye. Does anyone know if you can still order a bottle from the restaurant’s legendary cellar and have it served at the bar?

Thanks!

Update: The bar confirmed that you can order from the cellar. Seems like a great option for the wine-obsessed.

Wow, great to know! Thanks for doing the work

Let us know what you end up ordering!

And you don’t have to wear a jacket in the bar or on the rooftop.

Are reservations required for the bar? If not, is it difficult to get a seat? I will be there the last week of February

I have never had a problem walking into the bar on the ground level. I am not sure about the rooftop.

Mitch - Note various events are scheduled at the bar (e.g., Monday night jazz, a few tastings/ vernissages), and so on these nights, use of (& sometimes access to) the bar area is restricted/limited. But other than this, you can just walk on in. Feb in particular should be wide open, except for a scheduled event. Theo

Bumping this to hear if they still offer the full wine list at the bar downstairs?

Thank you in advance for your help

When I was there for lunch in November at Noon they offered the full list. They also expanded the food program. And the downstairs bar has its own list that has been developed by the younger somms and has more newer producers. We had Charles Lauchaux Aligote off that list and a bottle from the main list. I really like this approach.

However note the bar is open all day and what I was told is that the large list is not available if there is no sommelier on duty so there could be odd times during the day where you can’t access the main list. I showed up one day at 9 a.m. and the large list was not available.

I think you are safe though if you make a lunch reservation.

Perfect, thank you very much for your reply. Aiming at going for dinner on a Saturday, sounds like my chances for picking from the big list are good.

Cheers
