It's Wednesday 03/18/2009...What Is Everyone Drinking?

With a sad nod to Dildine who gave up the hooch, I ask what everyone has on deck tonight?

Me, the remnants of the 2005 Croix de Beucaillou from last night and then who knows.

The remaining half of the 2006 Saint Cosme Les Deux Albions that I opened last night with pizza. Quite nice.

Looks like it’s leftover wednesday!

I have an
06 Pax Walker
03 Numanthia
01 doisy daene
06 columbia crest res. semillion ice wine

all left over

The second half of a 2006 Martini Sonoma Cab.

You just love to torment me, don’t you Bill? [1928_middle_finger.gif]

Halfway done!!!

And I’m drinking BORDEAUX!

Gatorade special “G” reserve

Chinese dinner with one of the OC groups tonight, and we’re drinking Loire(ish) wines. I am packing a Garagiste trio of '07 Jean Teiller Menetou-Salon to compare and contrast with Wetrock’s Sancerre, an '06 Leo Steen Dry Creek chenin to see how it stacks up with the real deals, & an '05 Mikael Bouges Côt for the heartier mains.

Taking a break after last night:
1990 Alain Graillot Crozes-Hermitage La Guiraude
1990 Paul Jaboulet Aîné Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert
1996 Tardieu-Laurent Cote Rotie
1998 Jamet Cotie Rotie
1998 Beaucastel CnP
1988 Suduiraut

beer tonight…

Are you rehydrating after a long day/night of imbibing?

Well … Du-Cru to you Buddy!

Tonight will a be PN. Either an 07 from August West or an 06 Windy Oaks Reserve.

Rob, if it’s the WO, please report back. I just received a shipment yesterday (delievered at no cost to my office - boy do I love Windy Oaks!) that contained 06 Reserve and 07 Cuvee. The last time I tasted the 06 Reserve it was excellent, but hinted of even better things to come.

I wish! Nope, just giving my bod. what it needs

Thanks for making my mind up for me. [cheers.gif]

My shipment just had four of the 06 Reserve and a couple of the 06 Chardonnay. BTW - the Chardonnay is the best kept secret in the wine world IMO. I dare you to find me a white burg that even comes close to this even if you spent double the cost of the WO Chardonnay.

I need to update my preferences so that I get a few of the Estate Cuvee as well since I do really like that one and its a little cheaper.

Mel,
How did the CdP drink? I have a couple of '98 Beaucastel reposing in the cellar and I’m still of the mind that they are babies.

2006 and 2007 Escaravailles Heritage.

I just updated my preferences for that very reason and the fact that the Cuvee drinks better young than the Reserve - which I really believe requires a little time in the bottle. I’ve had the opportunity to sip older wines at the winery with Jim and Judy and aged Reserves are really special.

Not Mel but just had a 98 Beau the other day… certainly enjoyable but young. Needs a long decant if drinking anytime soon…

Margaritas with lunch at Maria’s. TBD with something this evening.
