I just popped it to let it sit open for a couple hours. I’ll post a note later tonight or tomorrow.
Earlier today Bob Egelhoff stopped by with his new release 2008 Napa Valley Reisling. Great stuff, perfect for spring/summer and it would be perfect with spicy foods, yum. Later, more than likely a mix of Oregon Pinots that one of our reps is bringing by. After that it may be a Dry Stack Syrah with dinner.
the 1998 Beaucastel CnP was super clean tasting wine, very young but not chocked full of tannins. While it was very good, it seemed kind of simple next to a pair of older N. Rhones. I’m going to let my sit for another 5 to 10 years.
Whatever swill they have at a biz function I have to go to tonight. Although, it’s litteraly across the street from K&L, maybe I could go there first and sneek in a bottle?
2003 Gérard Seguin Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes
1999 Philipponnat Clos des Goisses.
I need to decide how many to buy to get me through the summer .

Have a Cherry Hill Pinot Noir 2004 to open when I get home. Haven’t had it in a very long time.
Anybody else familiar with this property?
I got a 1999 Ridge Zinfandel Buchignani Ranch from the cellar, that we’ll have with dry sausages and cheese.
Piper just showed up with a 3/4 full bottle of 05 Seven Stones. Game on.
A sweet little lunch at Salumi in Seattle today:

After a, hopefully, win at my hockey game. I gotta get off this forum, I’m getting thirsty.

Mine actually had a fair amount of tannins and tart fruit right out of the bottle but rounded out nicely with some air

Oh come on you two…we all know you’re doing this together!
05 Martinelli Three Sisters SRM Pinot. Kinda sucky for wine, more like a pinotini.
98 Beaucastel. Nice wine that I needed to drown out the putrid baked flounder that I stupidly made for dinner. Yuck.
Pellegrino with lemon!
01 Lazzeretti Brunello at my local Italian Trattoria. Has quite a bit a funk at first but after it blows off a glorious wine with layers of fruit.
