Are you just baiting Bob Fleming?
Now that you mention it…
BBQ’ing some steaks tonight with my variety wines.
Partway through the party and a 1/6 keg of Ommegang Three Philosophers for $40 might be the best beer score ever. ![]()

Hawley Viognier & Avignonesi Rosso Di Montepulciano
i wanted to drink more, but my 6 week old twins just take up too much time in my life
…and thats a good thing.
I had a couple of the 2007 P2 Pinots, Cargassachi Jalama and Momtazi from Oregon. The Cargassachi kicked butt. Both were good, but wow… the C.J. was totally in my wheelhouse. We BBQ’d some Salmon so I thought, Oregon Pinot. Yeah - the Momtazi Vineyard was nice, with bright red fruit and good acidity, but there was a hollowness in the middle that was just too tastable. The Cargasscahi/Jalama though, was a strike, right down the middle. WOW!!!
As a starter, we also had the Tercero 2009 Gewürztraminer. This was a beautiful wine. The aromatics made you smile, the taste was all ripe honeydew melon and the acid from a perfect pineapple. This was fun to drink, and it went very, very fast. Good night !!!
