May crack one of Andrew Vingiello’s (AP Vin) Cabernets from Beckstoffer George III Vineyard in Rutherford…a nice gift for my help at the winery yesterday.
Other than that, cocktails/beer tonight with a couple of fraternity brothers
Saturday, big dinner with lots of wine to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Mostly those big overripe, too sweet CA wines (kidding!)
Tonight, I’ll probably finish off the ‘06 Bruno Colin - Santenay I opened last night. Tomorrow, we’ll be killing some babies (‘04 Pio Barolo, ‘05 Doisy Vedrines, ‘06 Siduri - Clos Pepe), have a CdP that’s in its window right now (‘01 Boislauzon), and whatever else may get popped. Sunday: probably beer and water.
Making what is currently looking like a fantastic Osso Bucco (should be done in a couple hours) and popped an 04 Pegau Reservee to go with it but this wine is so tasty that it is likely to be long gone by the time the veal shanks are done.
