In the last two months, I opened one each of @Adam_Frisch Rosé pack, which consisted of the Mariedam White Zinfandel, Eserra White Zinfandel and the Lanterna Flame Tokay. I figured if anyone could make a good white zinfandel, it would be Adam (no one else has convinced me to buy a white zin ). In any case, both white zins are delicious, completely dry, with a hint of tannins. Both go fabulously with spicy or smokey foods. I served the Eserra yesterday with chicken chipotle tacos and previously served the Mariedam with curry chicken - yum! The Flame Tokay remains one of my all-time favorite rosés, but I have never been able to find the correct descriptors to really convey how fun, unusual, but more importantly, drinkable it is.

I recently had the 2023 Sabelli-Frisch Mariedam White Zin and thought it was super fun! Great acid

I gave it a shot, and my description (from CT) really doesn’t do it justice:
Fascinating and different. Has a cloudy “natural wine” look to it reminiscent of lambic beer. Mix of lemon, tangerine and Seville orange. Medium acidity, concrete/like mild minerality. Enjoyable!
Score: 93 (extra point for being so different)
Relative to expectations: ++
Here’s a photo to show what it looks like:

Thank you all!
Nicely balanced with notes of apple, blossom and lemon curd. Paired very well with the chicken Dijon I made for dinner.
Really enjoying this 2022 Sabelli-Frisch Red Blend tonight! Great job on this @Adam_Frisch !

- 2022 Royer Chardonnay Witzel & Wind Royer Vineyard - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Eola - Amity Hills (6/19/2025)
Slightly flinty/reductive upon first sniff, developing more of a classy tropical character and more emphasis on oyster shell with some air and 'warming' a bit in the glass. Beautifully balanced on the palate, nice texture with snappy acidity to lift the wine, salty citrus fruits, nice clean, stony finish. Very well made, can likely age for many years, but was a perfect pairing to chicken Florentine. My adoration for Willamette Valley Chardonnay continues to grow.
