Very excited that Stephanie Izard’s new place is finally open. Seems it has been a very long time coming. The menu looks very interesting. I made a reservation for a Saturday night in a couple of weeks- very easy with Open Table.
I know one of our esteemed board members attended the advanced opening and posted some fantastic pics on FB.
I only ordered a third of the menu, so there is a lot more to try… also, for groups, they will be doing whole wood fire roasted animal legs… goat legs, veal legs, etc… won’t be on the menu, will have to order in advance… not sure when they will start this, but it will be coming…
Yeah, we can definitely hit it up when you are here (which is when by the way?) among some other places… I have a few places to take you to but of course we will need to grill on the deck at least one night…
I am in France for 12 days in September then in CA for harvest from the 21st until the end of October/beginning of November. So it will have to be in early to mid-november (no outdoor eating though) or the first week of September, otherwise, it is a no go for me…
Stephanie made wine in Walla Walla with a winery there that is labeling some wine for her. It will definitely be on their list if it is not already. I don’t recall the winery and whether or not it will be co-branded or just GatG labeled.
I had some minor quibbles that are almost entirely a function of trying to open… but the food is great… great bold flavors, lots of umph, interesting use of asian ingredients without it being fusion… defintel will go back…
Dined there last night - great space, attentive service, excellent flavor in all of the dishes we ordered. The house made bread with onion butter is so good I would go back just for it. Scallops, lamb ribs, deserts were all worth the visit. A very large space with more than 150 seats and it was crowded by 6:00pm. Wines by the glass were good. Another place to recommend.
