Ghislaine Barthod - need some advice

Anecdotally, I drank the 2010 Les Cras roughly a year ago. It started out beautiful, but closed down behind it’s structure about 45 minutes to an hour in, so take that for what it’s worth. I’d lean towards either 08 or 09 depending on your preference for vintage.

She and her husband made excellent 03s. My selections without a doubt. Own Cras in mag.

Stan,
I bought quite a few of these back in teh day and they were all good. Corton, Chevalier, Puligny Les Noyer Brets and various premier crus and never came across one that was poxed, but I did find at 10 to 12 yrs of age they were nicely mature for my palate, so they have all been consumed. For those who like a fully mature wine this would be worth a shot.

Ah, been there done that :slightly_smiling_face:. Those are priced at close to what I’d pay for current releases!

Probably too late here but had 2014 Beaux Bruns a couple nights ago and after a couple hours it was firing. One of my favorite bottles of this year.

Strange, according to some recent threads 2011 is apparently a terrific, consistent vintage.

Thanks, have a couple of these at home. One of teh few Barthods that I have in the cellar.

For what it’s worth, Beaux Bruns are always the earliest drinking 1er bottlings in a given vintage in my experience

09 Baudes or 10 Veroilles for me

Interesting…if I told you the list price of the 10 Veroilles is almost double the 09 Baudes, where would that leave you?

There is no such thing. What is true is that there are many really lovely wines from this vintage, as from every other. Wine is not a boxing match and it is tiresome that some people, who clearly have no idea at all of wine’s true function, seem to believe otherwise.

Relax. This is an internet wine forum and it was a joke.

Fully understood it was a joke, as was my comment. Fully relaxed here.
Edit: now understand that @David_K2 responding to @Tom_Blach

How early? I have a 2017 I was going to hold until at least 2027

I’d have been inclined to take the 09 anyway, honestly… so that would be an easy choice.

Not ready?

It occurs to me that this might be a good place to ask, how is the Barthod Baudes? I’ve nEver had it but it’s one of my favorite vineyards from both Drouhin and Jadot
