Ghislaine Barthod - need some advice

Hi guys, these wines are getting scarce around these parts. Going to a restaurant next week with a great list and a good selection of Barthods. Anyone have experience with these and suggestion for current drinking and why?
My initial thought is 08 or 09 Les Baudes.

2014 ghislaine barthod ‘les gruenchers’ 1er cru chambolle-musigny
2014 ghislaine barthod ‘les véroilles’ 1er cru chambolle-musigny
2011 ghislaine barthod ‘les véroilles’ 1er cru chambolle-musigny
2010 ghislaine barthod ‘les véroilles’ 1er cru chambolle-musigny

I would go with the 2010 veroilles; it’s the most likely to be drinking well. 07 would probably be the best but I didn’t see one on the list.

List has a nice selection

Yes the entire list is pretty smart.

I’d go 08 Baudes. Bonnes Mares adjacent. 50 year old vines. Higher acid year suits her style. Gives it some lift.

I’d be into some of those older LEAS in a flash :)!!

‘10 Veroilles. Because a ‘10 Gruenchers was phenomenal a month or two ago, and Veroilles is so darn good. Seems like a safer bet than an ‘08, as I found an ‘08 Barthod villages pretty darn acidic not that long ago (though still tasty!)

Yes some pretty great buys amongst these. Cellaring conditions are good so these should all be in really good nick.

Probably the '08. The '03 could be fun.

ive had that 2003 aux beaux bruns…maybe 2 years ago. it was…very 2003. prune-y…no sense of place. barely could call it chambolle.

im a barthod fan and would steer you to the 2008 baudes or the 2010 veroilles.

i had a 2008 cras a few weeks ago…still felt like it needed another 3-5 years honestly.

If you can squeeze it in, I would absolutely buy the 1988 Ch. Magdelaine for $265.

Thanks Brodie, that does sound enticing but Christine tends to prefer to squeeze in Barolo and Burgundy!! I will try my luck.

I’d go for the 2009, personally and avoid 2003 and 2011 at all costs. A 2010 Fuees I had last year at the Bristol was so weird we ordered another bottle because we couldn’t drink it. Not flawed, just…weirdly minty.

I’d be looking at the 2011s.

My gut feel is the more structured Barthod style and cooler vintage might yield a sterner wine, but happy to be convinced otherwise. Can’t say that I have busted an 11 for a long time!

It’s a very unstern vintage and Barthod does well in those-look at the lovely 92s, 97s and 2001s- but I can’t afford her wines any more so lack recent experience.

My understanding is that 2011 barthods are quite bad.

The JM Pillot 2007s on the list caught my eye including Clos St-Marc, any idea if those might have held up?

11 Barthod is especially green.

Very good if not premoxed; I have a few left.
