FedEx Is Coming Apart at the Seams

I just don’t like being confined to the house waiting on a delivery.

Had a BD shipment go out from the Central Coast on Monday. For some bizarre reason, FedEx routed the box south to LA (I’m in Seattle). It’s just been sitting there with no updates since. Now it has the dreaded ‘we will update you when it starts moving’ status. Doesn’t look like LA has been warm enough to cause concern over the wine getting damaged, luckily. But FedEx this month has been even worse than usual. These delays of‘we’ll let you know when it’s moving’ have happened on 50% of my FedEx shipments this month, wine and otherwise . First world problems, and all, but…grrr. Reminds me of early Covid when stuff was sitting in containers at hubs for over a week. Maybe this is the universe telling me to buy less wine or just buy locally.

i requested my Once & future order routed to the local Walgreen’s for pick-up. It’s been out for delivery for 3 days with Sergio behind the wheel. Not feeling like this is actually going to show up. Will call Walgreen’s today to see if it is there and maybe a scanning issue. otherwise lost, and will need to contact Joel’s team for some assitamce

That’s bummer. I got mine last week.

I’ve had this happen several times and it’s always wound up being delivered to Walgreens the day it went out for delivery. Sometimes Walgreens doesn’t scan them in.

… another FedEx fail on a 1 day express delivery… somewhere in transit, no delivery date available per the phone tracking system. will be looking for some $ back on service paid for and not delievered. FedEx is the worst, but must be cheaper than UPS b/c many seem to only use it

I had an order from flannery returned to sender last week. there was no attempt to deliver, at least from what I could tell from the shipping details and i was home all day. was labelled on truck for delivery for 2 days. I have not received a response from my emails to fedex or flannery and its getting a little worrisome.

For the first time today, the FedEx tracking website does not offer the option to hold for pickup (I use Walgreens). Something new? Just a glitch?

About a month ago, I noticed I no longer had the option to ‘manage shipment’. They also have an annoying glitch where the shipping notification you receive shows the billing address as the shipping address. Has to be a nightmare for wineries who are constantly getting emails and calls from customers who think their order was mis-shipped.

Meanwhile my shipment upthread is still MIA. Zero communication from FedEx.

My last two Flannery shipments were delayed by FedEx for a day. Stuff was still fine but I’m definitely gonna see if they will go back to GSO next time. GSO is kinda kooky but at least they deliver on the day they say they will.

I was finally able to call Walgreen’s and they had the wine in hand for 4 days. FedEx never scanned it as delivered

Hold for pickup is an individual store decision. Hopefully it is a glitch, but it’s possible that your Walgreens opted out.

I wish I could change, but now that i moved out of CA, it seems like its no choice. With wine, Im ok if its delayed or has to be reshipped cause it, hopefully, ewont go bad in a few days or weeks. But with steaks, they will go bad and someone now has to eat the loss. Hope its not me.

Something is going on at the Oakland FedEx depot - a lot of delayed/lost/damaged packages through there lately

Actually, my bad. I called and learned I had already put in a hold for pick-up. Too many deliveries and too many years :slight_smile:

I was just there and had my Winebid shipment redirected.
