Favorite Kermit Lynch wines? Looking for buying recs

Hi everyone,

I have an opportunity to purchase some Kermit Lynch wines at a significant discount. Seeing if there are specific wines or producers that you suggest I not miss. I tend to like most of the stuff he brings in, so I’m open to any and all suggestions.

Thanks!!

For the price, his Kermit Lynch Selections Cotes du Rhone is hard to beat.

Also everything Tempier, but the rose especially.

Kermit Lynch’s wines have become expensive, especially for the “big names”, such as those named above. If you can get these at a discount, go for it.
But one name that has not increased in price like the others is Tempier, maybe because Bandol is not a popular region in comparison. These wines are unique and can last for many years in the cellar.

Some good names mentioned, including some customer list only wines you are unlikely to get your hands on. Some, ahem, downmarket wines to check out would be their Punta Crena Rossese, which is a super light red that goes with pasta, pizza or can be an amped up rose. Also, from Burgundy check out Pierre Guillemot and Jean-Marc Vincent. The Vincent Soler-al mise would be a fantastic score

My guess is that the ones that are discounted are not the allocated wines that everyone is saying they like. Those are obvious and easy to sell.

If you’d like to post the actual list here, or send it to me, I can give specific recommendations based on what’s actually available.

I don’t know if it’s fair to say Bandol is not popular. I note that the “best of the rest” in Bandol are creeping ever closer to Tempier prices. Pradeaux specifically was my value option for many years but its now close to Tempier in price. The Tempier single vineyard wines are over $100.* I think its fairly popular but overall production is not that high and that likely limits exposure.

*Edited to say that I looked again and only the Cabassaou is over $100.

Most of the high-end names have already been mentioned but a fantastic value play from Kermit in Burgundy is Domaine Gachot-Monot. He takes far inferior terroir and turns out really nice wines. More daily drinker category than a ponderous GC wine but worth taking a stab at especially at attractive prices.

Dang, there are so many.

I think we are on the same page and while there are a lot of great wines in their portfolio, the Kermit tax is real, and eventually, they’ll get you.

I was also going to suggest Les Pallieres, along with VT.
