The Spring 2023 Detert release will be offered next Tuesday May 2nd. Our very limited production of 150 cases of the 2020 Cabernet Franc and 120 cases of the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon will be available to long term customers only.
2020 presented challenges but we are thrilled with the quality of the resulting wines. Delicious now, with beautiful fruit character, plush texture and sophisticated structure, these tiny production wines will continue to improve and unfold with a decade or more in the cellar.
The Detert spring release will open tomorrow, March 6th. We have wonderful wines from the 2021 vintage to share with you. As always, we wish there were more bottles to go around! Only 190 cases of 2021 Detert Oakville Cabernet Franc and 300 cases of 2021 Detert Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon were produced.
Curious how 2021 treated grapes from the site. Haven’t had the opportunity to try a lot of CF from this vintage but in the past Detert cab franc has been some of the best! A dream tasting for me would be East Block vs Beckstoffer Cab Franc, finally got allocated some Vice Versa TK CF for 2022 so might just be in the making.
I like the wines and thought they were great at sub-$100 for prior vintages. With being more selective on ordering allocations with the all around price increases, this is probably a pass.
