As suspected? I confirmed maybe two months ago that multiple of the shiners that went straight to bottle shop - not future lots - were ALL Martin Ray wine shiners.
But I’m guessing 90% of the future lots, if not more, are not Martin Ray. They simply don’t have that much wine and that diverse of offerings.
And why should anyone be surprised about this? It is part of their overall business strategy, right? Though they probably should just disclose it right?
I think they should. I think that would be a moral thing to do. Something like Note: We own the original winery that produced this or part of this wine.
You can download an extension that disables all those article firewalls. Ethical - maybe not, but it’s pretty easy! I learned about this here on this site! I clicked on your link, and wala - full article! I’m using Popupoff in chrome. It disables overlays - which is the problem with most “pay” articles.
I’m not a sleuth, by any description, but I believe the source guess for lot 25 was SMV. The offer mentions lot 269 (which I don’t have) as the last Spring Mountain offer (and not necessarily the source for 513). The source guess for that was Avid, according to de negociants.
Not sure SMV matches based on bottle price $100 over sale price before shipping, presumably $120+. I don’t think SMV has an offering that expensive at release.
EDIT Misunderstood wording, over $100 per bottle but not $100 over release price.
Spring Mountain makes both Oriri and Occasus Cabernets that sell for $110. Don’t see much tech data though. Occasus says its has merlot in it and is aged for 22 months.
