Agree to agree! Great chatting with you.
So I went and brought home almost all the wine I had in long term storage. It was fun opening all the unmarked boxes of wine. No Mickey Mantle rookie cards (my grandmother threw those out years ago) but I did find five bottles of 77.
I couldnāt have said it better. Super extra āDouble Thanksā for your eloquent summation.
I vote for the original launch model.
with the state of the wine market
I would say some āestablishedā folks should buy some bulk grapes, bottle, and sell
why not?
I have a different theory on the $300 1er cru burg. I bet itās a leftover from some contract Cameron signed while he was busy signing dumb deals and running the company into the ground. Remember his original Eleveur pitch? āWith his latest venture, he invites you to join him on his quest to make collectible wines from Grand Cru, First Growth-quality vineyards accessible to all.ā
I bet he or someone he contracted with somehow got some leftover juice from Leflaiveās parce during peak covid (2020 vintage!) , made it into this, and was going to release it as Eleveur. The current owners inherited it and have no idea what to do with it hence the lack of fanfare in release. Theyāll eventually end up putting it on sale for 50% off in the winter sale so the sale can be āup to 50% off!!!ā while everything else is actually 10% off.
As good a theory as ever. Makes so little sense they think they can sell $299 bottles of bulk wine - to anyone. Iād legit be surprised if they sold 1 bottle of this.
We missed this. Red, $110 a bottle.

2020 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Aux Combottes Rouge
The Ćleveur 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Aux Combottes Rouge is a divine, 100% single-vineyard Pinot Noir from a gem of a vineyard - Aux Combottes is an exceptional climat in the southwest corner of one of the finest appellations in the CĆ“te de Nuits. The sun shines long into the evening, and gravelly limestone soils (the fossils of ancient sea lilies, starfish, and urchins) produce concentrated grapes that yield a rich, alluring wine. If you could find it state-side under our sourceās label, it sells around $400/bottle. Under our program, you can acquire a 1er Cru expression at a Villages-level price - over 70% OFF the source. Weāre the only online store with it available in the US; supply is very limited.
Hi everyone. Esther Mobley here, wine writer for the San Francisco Chronicle (and longtime lurker on this thread). Iām writing a story about De Negoce and am trying to chat with a few very active customers. Iāve already spoken with a few of you here (thank you!) but would love a couple other voices in my piece. If anyone has thoughts they would like to share, get in touch
Calling: Ray Walker
Kinda has that Maison Ilan aroma
Is it an investigative journalism piece titled āWhat happened to Cam?ā Thatās what we are all wanting to know!!
āThe rise and fall of the Cam-ian empireā
āWhat the F**k happened to back up the truckā
āWe knew it was over when he asked if we liked our coffee blackā
Not sure it is our best interest to take De Negoce mainstream through media coverage. I like to think that we are a group of discerning buyers who are happy āhelp outā quality producers when they have inventory problems. Kinda like the idea of keeping it a secret transaction between buyer and seller and we reap the rewards of QPR

For the past few years I have used my utmost discretion to NOT reveal the location of my āfavorite wine fishing holeā. Only to a very select few of my closest friends, and, with an explicit promise/NDA.
Too many of my favorite special places have had the curse of glowing accolades from Sunset Magazine, USA Today, etc, etcā¦YIKES!
Ruined: Best small town, best deserted beach, best to kill the story, Iām kindly begging you.
Write about your favorite secret, not mine. Cheers
Or, when the SF Chronicle wrote anā¦ā¦ā¦.
Well, the secret is already out (to my readers at least!). I wrote about De Negoce when Cam was first launching it in 2020: https://www.sfchronicle.com/wine/article/Top-tier-Napa-Cab-for-10-With-bulk-wine-prices-15201102.php
Black Friday special: Buy 11 bottles from the shop and got a bottle of Grand Cru for $99.
Personally, I canāt wait for the story. And happy to participate.
Good luck with your article.
Iām over it.
I just remembered that the universe is still super extremely extra abundant! Very Niceā¦
Unless itās $299, Iām drinking the label.
Or it has a dN number on it, then you drink a number on a generic label.
