De Negoce offer (Part 2)

The $95 claimed price is downright fraudulent.
Still, in for 6. Im pretty low on daily drinker Burgs, and this will be fine for that. And 2019 is an early drinking vintage.

Been a while since I have poked in on this thread (or WB for that matter). The Volnay offer has my interest piqued, which is the first time in a while a dN offer has done that.

Any good TL;DR on the quality of the offers over the last few months. I’m starting to run out of N.181 and probably need to start keeping an eye out for a inexpensive dN cab.

Just saw a CA wine professional post this on LinkedIn and I thought it was relevant:

I just spent several days working with my distributor - it is erratic out there, but overall very negative. First ever trip in 15 years with such hesitancy to make a purchase from retailers and restaurants. In many markets anything over $20 retail is toxic, so we must be careful with this “premium” type-nomenclature and broad categories. We can ignore the data shy BMO report/sales tool, and sadly it makes sense that three generations make up 59% of spend - everyone’s doctor tells them to stop drinking when they stub a toe over the age of 50 now. This is the new new.

Many are asking if this is the bottom and we are starting to pull up. I sure hope so. The bulk market has loosened a bit, but word on the street is still that tasting rooms are mostly dead - mine is - and reps are quitting since they can’t make rent. One fancy market I went to in the hills told me they haven’t sold a bottle of Caymus in five weeks, so they know the sky is falling. What are you seeing out there?

Thanks for sharing @jduthko. Scary that he hopes this is the bottom, but I look forward to reading the full post.

This came out today too:

Depending on the description and price, this might be enough to make me dip my toe back in since my 7-month hiatus started in Nov/Dec. I must say that i do like the new label better than the old one, and hope this lives up to the number

Good point! The sad reality is that the wine industry might need to figure out how to make amazing non-alcoholic (NA) wine asap. The beer industry is much ahead on this game. Today you can drink NA beers that are indistinguishable from standard ones. Huge progress compared to crappy watered down NA beers I tried 5-10 years ago. And these NA beer brands are thriving!!

If anyone is interested in getting rid of some of these please let me know. I’ll cover freight and of course pay for the juice.

Looks like the 2017 version of Lot 468 is available on the website.

In for case

Black Sears Winery is the highest on Howell Mountain

Its Robert Craig

I get this wrong about 50% of the time too, but the winery is Robert Craig. Roger Craig managed the Giants to the 1989 pennant and won three Super Bowls with the 49ers (different guy, same name).

Been a while but this caught my eye. Only thing is, does retail price match up? I googled quickly and saw 2019 Robert Craig Howell Mountain Cabernet for only $52 at Total Wine

Can’t check out getting an error after I try to exit my cart
anyone else?

EDIT - worked in Safari - does not work in Chrome.

In for a case. Would get 2 but got 5 in total of the last two shiners and too much wine.

Can’t check out either.

What leads you to Robert Craig?

In for 6, checkout worked for me! Did the deal on Firefox on my PC

Never mind I just scrolled back and saw the cork

That is likely the Howell Mountain Cuvee with retails for around $50. If you shop around you can probably find this for around $90.
