infinite scroll at the bottom is absurdly amateur, they went from the golden age of 90s forum software to the algo-monetized hellscape of mid 2010s.
I will try to do some vidsā¦hard to find the time blah blah blah.
you wouldnāt believe me if I told you, sir.
Zero clue, but bored. Here is something interesting. Peter Michael La Carriere. It is Sonoma County, but I believe this comes from close to the Sonoma - Napa border. The 2020 is 15% abv. It regularly sells for over $100. According to the winery, it is ā100% French Oak from select artisan coopers.ā
I have to search the whole forum to find this thread as wellā¦I guess I must have the settings wrong because the active threads are not publishing first in my feedā¦
Here is what I have done: at the bottom of the thread, just below the last post, there is a āTrackingā button.
Select that, and change the setting to āTrackingā or āWatchingā depending on what you want.
Then everytime you come to WB, you will have a āNewā tab at the top, and you will see this thread IF there are new posts.
Its the new WB look. My first time on the new site too. At first glance, itās confusing.
ahhh, gotcha. Yeah, its hard to get used to for sure. I deleted last comment to Mr. Smith
With multiple online retailers doing harvest sales, it will be interesting to see if de negoce has anything this weekend.
Major FOMO! Iāll go for a case, since we previously received Cameronās āno 2020 fire smokeā guarantee. Risk is pretty low at $14 delivered if itās even close to Peter Michaelās rejects.
no smoke baby, no smoke.
I was about to go in on the Barolo with a friend, but it sold out.
I figure this is probably a larger producer like Fontanafredda or Damilano, which realistically should perform really well for the price. And likely on the same quality plane as the Kirkland Barolo, which I stocked up on last year.
Definitely some FOMO on my end, but I have a good base of 2016 Barolo already. Cheers to whomever got the last 6-pack!
Iām also optimistic Cam might have another offer or two up his sleeve from Italy . . . .
Bought a case of the Chardonnay. 245 was lovely with no smoke. I donāt often drink Chardonnay (my wife does) but when I do, I predictably have enjoyed the dN offers.
Any update on when the Mansalto wines will ship ?
God I hate this new website.
Is it too difficult to navigate. This is progress.
I read this article about De Negoce: Cameron Hughes Talks de Negoce
Lot of good stuff in there, but I liked this section:
The Wine Write: How much fun do you get from following threads about de NƩgoce on forums like Wine Berserkers?
Cameron: I enjoy getting feedback on the wines. The speculation about the sources is neither here nor there. Itās mostly wrong. Of course, I have to say that, right? I do enjoy interacting with the Berserkers. They bust my chops at times. They keep us honest. Itās a good relationship.
Good article Dave, thanks for sharing.
25 years from now when my kids ask me about 2020 Iāll be excited to tell them how I was a cult leader for a new wine company and ended up renting the San Diego Padres storage locker as a resultā¦
Lol! In 20 years weāll also be looking for your tasting notes on those wines Cam said could cellar for that long. Weāll finally know if he was telling the truthā¦.
