I’m thinking about putting together a cdlr tasting. What are people’s favorites?
My thoughts on wines to include:
Ponsot
H. Lignier
G. Lignier
Lignier Michelot
Rousseau
Marchand Tawse
coquard loison fleurot
What am I missing?

Dujac!
Agree with Don, you’d likely want Dujac involved in a tasting.
The handful of people who know her stuff seem to dig Chantal Remy.
Vincent Girardin
Bouree
D. Laurent
Ponsot
Potel
I have not tasted the Clos de la Roche from Domaine Jerome Castagnier, but their Clos St. Denis was a hauntingly beautiful wine. They used to be affordable, but the price is up above $200 these days.
Never had the CdlR, but I’m a fan of Ben Leroux in general. It seems it’s only available in 1.5L, however. Agree on the Dujac also.
Yeah definitely need to include dujac
Lecheneaut not too costly.
Pousse d’Or now makes one also.
Do you just want a list of all?
Just ones that would be interesting; just brainstorming possible OL themes.
Arlaud
Rousseau
Truchot
TRUCHOT!!!
Also Pierre Amiot.
Amiot I can do, not going to spend 2k buying try not although I’d be happy if someone brought one.
Leroy too, sure! I guess I’d ask the question of whether you’re going broader or more high end, and more recent or older vintages.
You have a good list there. I would just add as potential candidates Jadot and Drouhin. They are not usually at the top of the heap, but are quite good and sometimes stunning. Neither is a Domaine bottling.
On the matter of Rousseau- I would highly recommend the 2015 vintage unless you are looking to do the entire tasting with mature examples. It is a very rare example of a Clos de la Roche that is showing incredibly well young, and I suspect- as one major critic has noted- it may remain approachable its entire life. It is a stunner of a wine.
Rousseau’s 2001 was excellent last week. The '99 and '05 are also really good.
Certainly Dujac, and don t forget Raphet and Arlaud
