Clos de la Roche

Le Moine

I have some drouhin as well, so that sounds good.

not a great producer but there is old Louis Remy on winebid and fill looks great. In fact there are a bunch of unusual producers on the site at decent prices. May be a surprise, too, if one shows well. Castagnier, Laboure-Roi, Jeanniard, other unusual CdlR bottlings.

Louis Remy was quite rustic in style, I had 1983, 85 and 88.
Brother Philipp Remy … same style, domaine was bought by Leroy in 1989.

Interesting that benchmark just sent out an offering featuring Cdlr, other ones I didn’t include were pousse d’or and Olivier bernstein

Dujac and Ponsot. I’ve always heard that Rouseau’s CdlR isn’t a great buy and nit as good as it should be. But given how good their other wines are, I’ve always been skeptical of that advice. I’d sure love to put theirs into the tasting, just to see.

Laurent Intra Muros

That’s one of the reasons I’m doing the tasting. I’ve heard that but there’s only one good way to find out.

I’ve had a fair amount of Rousseau’s CdlR from recent vintages and there’s no truth to this. It’s probably more Rousseau than CdlR, but you could say the same about dujac in equal measure. The 12 and 13 in particular are spectacular renditions.

I really enjoyed the '16 Rousseau cldr. Very lovely aromas.
