Catastrophic Fires In Napa and Sonoma

I’m in downtown Sonoma now. There’s a fire on the mountainside behind Scribe. Heard rumors that Nicholson Ranch may have been hit. Smoke is thick in the air, ash falling now and again.

The Fountaingrove area was hit hard. Ridgetop multimillion dollar homes. Media has not been up there yet. When they do people are going to shit.

Again, these are very rough approximations of where the wineries & vineyards lie on the map.

[I didn’t include “Stagecoach” because several different properties seem to have that same name.]

As the crow flies, it’s about 12 or 13 miles from Signorello, in the south, to Colgin, in the north.

My Step-Son manages the Stagecoach Vineyard for Gallo. He called us at 2:30am saying the ranch was on fire.

We’re still here too. Thinking out toward bodega bay and then south along coast if we need to go…

How awful!

I was on the phone to a friend a week ago who’s out in Portland for a while and he said there was bad smoke there. And Vancouver has had several bad periods of smoke this year because of fires inland.

When I search for “Stagecoach”, I get three or more different properties, all more or less lining up with the general vicinity of Soda Springs Road:

California Highway Patrol airlifted about 30 people out of wineries on Atlas Peak last night, per @CAL_FIRE

Many night picks were underway at vineyards last night when the fires began to come through. We’ve heard reports of workers picking in smoke

Saw video earlier of the Hilton Santa Rosa on fire. Same with Fountaingrove Inn. Horrible.

This is just surreal…spent the whole weekend at Silverado working the golf tournament.

Just got a text from a lady who was working on my Shotlink holes and her home inside Silverado is gone along with quite a few of her neighbors. My sister and parents are out the west side Napa and so far OK. Cells are either knocked out by fire or remaining are overloaded.

There were on-duty Cal Fire personnel standing in line with me at the burger dog stand and the wind was just coming up…captain ominously said that he hoped nothing got started.

Goodman Luck and be safe to everyone in the area.
Needless to say, property isn’t worth risking safety.

This is heartbreaking.
Stay safe everyone.

The area above the Silverado Resort appears to have been hit very hard. ABC News had a reporter at Alta Mesa and Stone Mountain Circle and the damage was bad. Our thoughts and prayers are with the residents in the area as well as the firefighters.

Thanks,
Ed

I hate to be so suspicious but this was my thought also.

Has anyone heard from Adam Lee?

Pressdemocrat.com has some chilling photographs.

Adam is fine but the winery is in one of the affected neighborhoods

Adam is okay. Hope he and everyone else continues to stay safe.

High winds, power lines, fire…
