I’m on full hold unless actual shiners from Cam or dN. I just have no place to put all this wine! Still trying to eliminate the wine from the broken fridge!
Wow. I got those, too. Also the first shiners for me. And long, long gone. Cheers!
RE:
CAM X Lot 10 2023 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon FUTURES OFFER
Bottling into shiners is scheduled for June 27th. The wine should be ready to ship in early July, weather permitting.
Speaking of Stagecoach? Giddy up Matt! Can you Drink ‘em faster?
“Shiners” are in the glass of the beholder……
In for one #10
Wouldn’t be surprised if this happens. He did some of that with DN. I recall, for example, a Central Coast Syrah trio sold as a case.
@Luke_Newton - I too had that same issue but went in using a direct wine vip link to get around the website issues that seem to manifest themselves at the worst time.
This website is not industrial grade. When multiple people try and jump on an offer, it chokes. This is no way to run a business. I have an order # from my attempt to buy this lot but no email - and they order does not appear in my profile. I’ll see what customer support has to say…
@QuinG - you are 100% correct - WINE VIP was NOT ready for this level of concentrated activity in short time frame… We had similar growing pains with the original dN site…
But this still doesn’t stop us from buying nor complaining!
Not a shiner! He’s killing me!
I agree there’s a way, but in the past, it has always been a method to get rid of the leftovers that did not sell out. What I’m asking for here is that clearly he has a bunch of wine that’s gonna be coming out all from the same producer and I just doubt that he is going to sell this out. I want something that lets me buy six bottles of lot 10 and then wait for up to three months to let me see what other lots would fit my fancy. And then it allows me to buy six of those for exactly half of the price of each of the lots.
@Luke_Newton - you want to be able to build a case so that shipping is managed and less than smaller shipments. Other wine sellers do offer that so the tech is available.
I too would like to be able to buy X of #Y, then X of #z, etc because sometimes I am swimming in Cabernet but don’t want to miss out on what you all are scarfing up !
Thank you Cam X
XOXO
Yep, just contacted customer support - I ordered Lot 12 (leading to my post about 60 above this one about what a freakin’ headache the website is) and never got a confirmation email, and my card turns out not to have been charged. So…I didn’t order it? I’ll find out.
Looks like someone is watching the feed:)
At $10 more than half the case price, that’s worth it for me compared to the recent dn 6 packs being almost 5$ more per bottle.
Shiner is an industry term. So it is a shiner in wine lingo. Bottled, no label.
We always refer to it in the transactional sense. buying a shiner, which has a different connotation. That is buying a bottle that was produced by the winery they intended to sell. I.e. a finished wine.
@Luke_Newton - Ask and ye shall receive !
did anyone happen to capture the description for lot 12 ? now that it’s no longer available on the winevip site, we lost all of that detail.
Thank you Joe!
Exactly what I was looking for.
100% agree - but he knows what a consumer means for shiner! The debate years ago was he bought excess juice and bottled it himself (might have even mixed it himself, no idea if same juice as winery) and he said was for a brand he decided not to launch. So was “bottled as a shiner a year ago” and was being labelled as dN and sold. The debate was - that aint a shiner. Pretty much everyone but Cam agreed. Haha.
That said, I’d take a bullet for that guy.
Someone has also apparently been building this:
Which will probably go in my bookmarks in about 1 minute…
