LOL, yes, indeed.
Precisely my first thought! ![]()
I just told my wife my wine dealer is back. Went OK, I suppose. Seriously though, “Hallelujah! Holy Shit! Where’s The Tylenol?” Grateful you’re back. A big part of my wine education and what’s left of my dwindling* cellar. Looking forward to the next adventure.
*not growing at quite the pace
I’ll only join if you promise to ship unannounced in 95° weather; for dN continuity sake. Something to drive engagement.
Wrong thread, off topic, but dN #66 is drinking nicely tonight. From our curator:
“I sourced this ““Napa Valley”” Cabernet from a Stags Leap winery and, after one whiff, thought they were just trying to protect the appellation by selling it as ““Napa Valley””. It smelled exactly like Stags Leap Cabernet - inky in the glass with aromas of graphitic black cherry and plum backed by blackberry jam and fantastic tannins. I asked the winemaker if they were holding out on me and was promptly sent a very specific appellation breakout: 73.58% Stags Leap 22.44% Yountville 3.98% Carneros”
Looking forward to more like this one. ![]()
Great QPR $180, ![]()
I do expect Cam to say back up the truck on the first release.
If he doesn’t, I will be disappointed.
Depends…is TN.01 a large case count to take advantage of pent up demand, or a small/medium sized lot designed to sell out quickly and build FOMO…my money is on the latter.
Very Good question!
Either way, my money is on fancy booze, getting more!
I think everyone knows the answer to that question.
It’ll be back up the truck time!
#29! FOMO is setting in already.
#33!
Also for those not around dN back in 2023, a little background on ‘The Roxy’! Great insider reference on the website!
The way I see it, this $1000 is a going to provide me endless joy.
Scenario 1: I spend it on half dozen cases of Cam wine.
Scenario 2: Cam gets ~100-150 people on this website to fund his new luxury car and we never hear from him again.
Either way, it’s going to be a hell of a lot of fun in this thread!
I assume you are referring to summer '23? Just so you know, I was not involved in the company then. On paper, yes, but that’s it. I recall seeing the uproar on here but my lips had to be sealed at the time.
So, yes, this was originally purchased to be a floating tasting room with assurances from my compliance person, at the time, we would be able to get it licensed. That turned out not to be the case thus begetting the phrase “the best days of a boat owners life are the day they buy it and the day they sell it”. We finally got it licensed a different way as retail and tasting in the Fall of 22 but then I sold de Negoce Jan 23. I’ve actually only taken it out 2-3 times in the four years I have owned it. We do do 20-30 charters a year and at one point had it setup as a airbnb but, essentially, its been colossal money pit.
I backed up the truck on the Founding Membership.
Got 2.
This is Cam after all.
welcome aboard! And thanks to all of you who have joined as Founding Members! Its gonna be fun.
I’m number 2. Short time lurker, but excited to be on board!
@Cameron_Hughes, is the Roxy ever going to make it to the east coast?
Also, when can we expect the first offer, approximately? Weeks or months is fine, but just figured I’d ask.
That is amazing. I mean sorry for the money pit but great story especially for all of us who were speculating back then!
Bring the Roxy, down the coast to beautiful, friendly, safe Morro Bay, CA… ![]()
The Slip and/or Mooring fees are truly Back Up The Truck worthy!!! ![]()
Last time I was in SF, two of my car windows accidentally broke themselves overnight, DOH! ![]()
