Surprising, eh?
It is early in the cam x realm. And I think we are lucky.
It does appear that folks here account for much of sales so far.
I found the refer-a-friend to be limited as so many friends are too old or young to buy much wine, or don’t want many bottles of the same wine, or want known labels. It is less attractive if you don’t know who Cam is and what he done, if he hasn’t already earned your trust.
We appear to be an odd niche market… enjoying the mystery and wanting to follow a wine’s evolution through the arc of its time…following a trusted guide. We also accept that most but not ALL wines will please us.
Did De Negoce start similarly slow? Do/did their wines take a while to sell out? Anyone know how large their lots were/are? I don’t ever find many lots available at a time on their website.
It does seem like Cam has brought us an amazingly large number of lots quickly, with quite the selection to choose from.
On another subject: opinions on using a venturi aerator to open these young wines ahead of their natural time?
Does the resulting wine differ from the slower decanting?
Another mystery is Lot 25. There is an email from early September saying they were down to the last 50 cases of it. Yet despite the hype on this forum only increasing since then, it has somehow not sold out.
I finally bought some based on everyone’s enthusiasm for Lot 20.
FOMO is real. So are storage limits.
Set aside a few hours and you can read it all here.

That was quick…in the cart and sold out before I could even think about it lol
And on and on …
It was April 2020 and everyone was drinking more, spending more time on the internet, etc…
Thanks, I will.
And you can generally find the number of cases per dN lot in the descriptions linked here.
.
I have too much 20 already, otherwise I’d stock up on more. Hope lot 50 gonna be a PN
Remember that Esther Mobley of the SF Chronicle did put on a spotlight on Cam when he was transitioning from dN to CamX and there was other press as well . . .
There is no way to know the % of sales that WB counts for - so you may or may not be right . . . but I think Cam loves the fact that most on here think that it IS the case . . .
Cheers
There’s really nothing more to discuss here. It’s all been said 5 years ago
When anybody (including me) thinks they have something new and insightful, nah
Just read the OG thread… we go round and round the wheels
I just peaked at the article again and all I can really take away from it is…holy crap, Matt Turk bought 150 cases. Where’s my invite to that party?
The Lot 28 - Gewürztraminer from Anderson Valley is really good juice. Lovely, perfumed nose, excellent mouthfeel and finish. Had 2 bottles over the long weekend amongst friends. Crazy cheap versus what you are actually getting back in terms of quality. Very well done!
Frankly, it sounds like Lot #4 is more to my preference than Platt Estate then. I love the tension and acidity of #4. More ripe and it would turn flabby real quick.
I believe your second paragraph is close to how these wines come into existence.
Platt Estate Chardonnay is a touch more refined and intense than Lot 4. Both are yummy but for 1/4 the price I’d take Lot 4 everytime.
I just grabbed 2 more cases of Lot 20. Drinking well
20 cases! Talk about backing up the truck!!
That should be illegal.
Goodbye lot 24. I did a case of 24 and 25 to start the sale luckily as I did not have any 24.
I jumped to buy another Lot 20 in fear of selling out right after reading Andy’s comment. Came back to him rectified his 20 cases purchase was in fact, 2 cases LOL.
