Cam X Wine Company

Cliff Lede has also been selling their FEL Pinot via discount web sites. So, wouldn’t be surprised if it is their wine.

I’m putting my money on Odette Estate. North on the Silverado trail, new facility built in 2012, $150, uses those blends, abv % usually close.

Cam says powerful yet elegant andd their branding is “Iron First in a Velvet Glove”

The copy also mentions 1% Oakville, they are owned by Plumpjack in Oakville.

How much money? I think the map clue has to be the starting point. Odette is central. Such a shame that we can’t bet on these (except by buying the wine) as there’d never be enough certainty to settle on a winner.

In for a case. I got the email offer from Detert for East Block Cab Franc today too. I can get a case of this Stag’s Leap cab sav cheaper than a single bottle of the East block cab franc. I know that’s not quite apples to apples, but money is money.

I am in for 32 cases so far. I have to slow down… I have offsite storage space for 12 cases. :flushed: Trying to save my space at home for wine I will drink over the next few years while waiting on the 2023’s.

I am in for only 19 cases … but will need another couple of racks it seems. Thankfully, I have until the fall for the majority of the wines. This is so reminiscent of those early dN days…

I like numbers. There is a large number of us deserving those Holiday Cards. Very Good :+1:

A while back some folks asked what I liked. I haven’t made a Cam X purchase and have only bought 1 mixed case from De Negoco. To give an idea what I like I just popped a bottld of Lot 530 a 2023 Oakville Cabernet…oh my goodness. Fantastic! Any suggestions for Cam X based on that?

Any advice between the 2? This Lot 530 from De Negoce I am drinking now is dang good. Scored 94 points by JS.

THIS is the kind of cab I like.

We should see some tasting notes on Lot #2 soon. @Sc0tt_B posted earlier.
Don’t think Lot #15 has shipped yet, at least I haven’t seen any mention of it.

  1. you can always do 6 of each

  2. I’d go for quality 2023 over 2022. 22 declassified wine could be for more obvious reasons if you are risk averse.

  3. the 23 is mostly the producers product

I like hearing your case purchases up in the 30’s and 40’s. Makes telling my wife that I missed out on some some great wine beyond my 18.5 cases

Did the exact same thing today. Frees up some money for the William & Mary, Realm, and Mowe releases over the next 2 weeks while I’m at it.

Thanks for the insight Cam. I guess the operative words are “these days”. For my previous orders, the confirmation wasn’t broken down in two lots. It just showed a single entry of 12. Thanks again for bringing us some incredible opportunities from today’s interesting wine landscape.

Would appreciate a shipping update. I realize shipping was at our own risk, but I did at least try to time my request for when Napa wasn’t super hot (but now it is for a few days) and when it’s been unusually cool on the east coast. Did anyone else place a request last week or at all and get a shipping notice from Cam X (not WineVIP)?

I requested to have 5 cases shipped with the shipping request form Sunday 8/24 from CAM X direct.
Wines were shipped yesterday 8/28, and due to arrive in Michigan 9/3-4.

Curious. After you filled out the request form, did you get a confirmation email of any sort? Wondering if somehow my web site request just didn’t go through.

I’m surprised people are receiving lot 1 but I still haven’t got tracking numbers by WineVIP yet.
