Burgundy Vintage Notes for the People (<$200 MV)

keep us updated…the shipping costs keep me from pulling any trigger.

I was quoted $45 from Sterling in Mahopac ny for 3 375s delivered to midtown NYC , 52 miles away. Plus 2% insurance.

Makes $90/case cross country seem cheap.

Likely the best option will be to have Uovo pickup and transfer to my storage in NJ, but we’ll see.

The 1959 is sensational, should you ever see it.

That’s what William Kelley said. I imagine sound bottles can probably mostly be found in France.

I love how quickly talk goes to unicorn-like 1959 dream bottles in the <$200/bottle burg thread

One more for the people.
New domaine to me, but I like what I see— except the natural cork of course…

2013 Camille Giroud NSG Boudots

Transparent ruby, immediately quite expressive from opening. This has dark fruit, lovely warm spices, and a healthy dose of earth on the nose. Palate goes on with spicy red fruit and a wonderful texture, fully resolved tannins. Continues the trend for me of wonderful 2013s.

Adding my own notes from the recent past to try to keep this thread even remotely on task…

It wouldn’t cost that if it turned up-and should be avoided if it did, the risk is too great. I paid about £30 for it but it was 20 years ago.

The ‘17 Gros Frere Echezeaux is really good.

Yeah it’s great, I’m gonna stock up a few more once it warms up.

$Under $200 sounds low for that one.

I bought a few that were delivered last week and they made it from Chicagoland to New York thru single digit temps without any obvious issue. Was definitely kicking myself tho, should’ve waited or looked at the forecast….

It’s not, 189.95 with 10% off from buywinesonline.com

I’m gonna buy more but that store seems pretty automated so I don’t want to place an order and have them ship in subzero weather; their website says they’re resuming shipping on 1/26.

Same. I called them and they won’t hold for shipping. Very automated. They just send it out.

I was able to call them and schedule a ship date which was in a couple weeks, hopefully it works.

So this under $200 threshold … are we talking our costs or what it costs today? Because I can count on one hand how many Burgs are in my cellar for which I paid over $200.
