Board Member cellar pics

Worked a bunch on the cellar today. I still have about 10 cases to unpack. It’s holding a little over 1400 right now.
The cooling unit will go in before the new year arrives. Unfortunately there is no room for seating like my last place.

This is my T-Bone shot:

The O.C crew should be ashamed that they’re not at your place everyday.

he’s always busy. neener

It’s interesting. I have a drain under the sub-floor where the cooling unit drains. The result is that the humidity in the cellar has ranged from 62% to 66% over the four years (I have a SensorProbe connected to my home network that logs data every couple of seconds). This is particularly impressive give how dry our winters are where sub 40% humidity is the norm.

I don’t know if the drain is responsible for this level of humidity, but I’m very happy with how things have worked out.

Yeah, doin’ stupid military stuff.

Not fancy but functional…it has over 5,400 bottles.

A few more

The other wall…mags, bubbles and port…

these were taken upon completion (as complete as it’s gonna be for a while)…unfortunately, there is a lot more wine in there now!

this thread reminds me to get new friends

We may have gone a bit crazy, but at least I only put one floor in my wine cellar. [swoon.gif]

Okay, I just banned Randy as well.

However, I will still allow him to answer this question:

How did you get permission to have a basement put in? Isn’t there some epic rule structure for California houses when it comes to subterranean residential construction?

Love the kiddie chair with the mag on it [/quot

Can you say double mag?

Uncle Fester:
(Very utilitarian.)

Yes.

You in the area? PM me your contact info? We are going to have a winemaker dinner with in late Janurary.

Man, you know you’re a geek when the construction pictures get you more excited than the wine pictures.

More construction pictures, please!

Thanks.

Screw the rules - they’re lucky the whole thing didn’ t collapse on them.

Actually, now that I think about it, that could be a make for a pretty awesome reality TV show - sort of a cross between “This Old House” and “Jackass/Ouch My Balls” - trying to see how much crazy shiznat you could get away with before the entire structure collapsed and buried you.

The lawyers would never allow, though - you’d have to fake it all in a TV studio.

Speaking of which - did anyone ever see Heli-Loggers?

That show was terrifying.

Sure does not compare to many, but here is what I have for the last three years. Capacity is about 1400, and getting damn close to full. The cellar was driven by “need” and the “excuse” was a 60-year old garage that was progressively failing downslope, due to its construction over 10 feet of poorly placed fill. The cellar thereby buttressed the rest of the garage.

How do I put in more than 3 photos?

I like it!

How do I get more than 3 photos up?
