Why would not they specify list of states they do / don’t ship? They are just wasting people’s time.
It can cause excessive regulatory scrutiny
Thanks you for posting about this! I haven’t had Patricia Green since Covid…always intended to buy a case at some point, but never got to it. This put me over the edge to get that case…can’t wait!
Wine Access has WS WOTY '22 Giscours for $88 - with $50 off $150 it comes down to just over $60 a bottle shipped for a pair
First time buyers $50 off $150 with this link (you get $50, I get $50) - WineAccess - Find & Buy Online the World’s Best Wines from Bordeaux to Napa, Direct From the Source
Why do they do this to us?
Bought 6 the last time this was posted. Really needs more time or a one or two days after opening. one of the stranger tasting wines i’ve had the first few hours after opening. Fruit really doesn’t show until a day after opening
I bought three of the Royal City last go around. I had one and thought it was quite good after a couple of hours of air, but I don’t feel the need to re-up.
Not having done a side by side, I also have no real sense of how this compares to the dramatically cheaper CS options.
Still, for $30, obviously a very good deal.
That’s a helluva deal. It’s $100 on WTSO.
To be fair, WTSO, like Vivino, is extremely hit or miss. Sometimes there prices are higher than average and sometimes (albeit less frequently) they blow it away. If you like your syrah rich, ripe and in your face but also with a little bit of varietal character, Charles Smith K Vintners is good. And they are a good producer, just a big one.
I hadn’t looked/shopped at wine.com since pandemic days, but just noticed some recent deals for the one in my market. Do they still do the coupon code thing? Any recent codes? Thanks.
There are some, but they don’t work on the very top wines. There are definitely some very good deals there, although we picked through the top burg deals already.
Yes, as @MChang noted the coupons will still work on some but not necessarily the top wines. Also I’ve noticed that a lot of wines are still woefully over-priced even with a coupon. Have to poke around as there are still some deals to be found.
There were some amazing deals earlier but those are gone. I have a 20% off coupon if anyone wants it, but it’s limited to only a certain subset of wines. It looks like it’ll work on some burgs (like Rousseau charmes, cdlr, some others), trapet and Yquem and the pricing is likely US low with these, but won’t work on the top wines.
That was quite the run with wine.com between the start of the pandemic and 2023 I bought 170 bottles and everyone was at the lowest price in the country by a wide margin. Combining that with cash back from other entities was like a sport. Now I hardly ever check the site anymore. I used to get excited when there was a new post in the coupon section.
Maybe with wine consumption decreasing they will bring back the 100 of 300 but not likely.
Yeah same here Peter, that was an incredible run with the coupons / cash back and then for a while Raise was selling WDC gift cards for 10-20% off too! Just glancing at some old purchases, factoring in all the discounts I got 2019 Montrose for <$100, 2020 Clos L’Eglise and 2019 Leoville Barton for <$50 and tons more.
The flip side is, I’m still kind of anchored to these prices (although less so as time passes) which makes it hard to pay normal prices now! I’m guessing there will be some wild deals again in the coming years given the oft-discussed industry trends
The rakuten/amex/wdc combo was epic for awhile, farmed a couple million MR points and got hundreds of bottles of Krug 168 for less than wholesale back in the day.
I almost bought the half off Stewardship the other day just because, but I couldn’t find a reasonable deal on something I want.
Wine Spectrum has 20% off $250+ when using REFINE20
What is Wine Spectrum? Do you have good experience with them?
