Good move. Not something I’d buy, but funny (not funny) that wine is listed at $379 for the southeast region on wine.com
Yeah, I was surprised to find this, these types of wine are usually .97 and 10-20% overpriced. It said 7 days to ship so hopefully they don’t cancel it on me.
SHP50 gives $50 off $250
Did you get the credit?
Used SHP for LdH Tondonia 2001, 2005, and 2006 for $210 all in, and then another 5% from Capital One Shopping Portal. Not bad considering what LdH back vintages often go for.
expert20 for $20 off $100 seems to be live at the moment. Not great, but potentially useful
50FORYOU is $50 off $300 at WDC. Was off $200 two years ago.
I would expect WDC list prices to get even worse, as FedEx just imposed 7% price hikes on their shippers. Their prices basically bake in the ‘free’ shipping StewardShip is supposed to entail.
It does reinforce for me that I’m glad I locked free shipping in on my futures purchases through WDC. Lord knows what it will cost me to ship the '20s from other places.
I would not be surprised to see them backslide on that, especially for customers who have let their membership expire.
What do you mean? You think they will deny the free shipping? I highly doubt that will happen.
Made my first purchase in a few months using the $50 off $250 coupon and Rakuten 10% Cash Back. A lot of consternation about the coupons recently, but I will note that their Bordeaux pricing has been very, very competitive in spots. 2019 Giscours for example was on sale for $55.99 and unlike past “sales” this was a very legit price (K&L had pre-arrival Giscours for $69.99 - now out of stock. B-21 $60 pre-arrival, Hi-Time has it at $54). So bit of a no-brainer to get the 20% off coupon and 10% cash back.
I think one thing we may be seeing (and I only have Bordeaux pricing to support this) is that they may be reducing the margin overall on certain items, and consequently the coupon discounts aren’t as steep. But you’re still getting the best price in the country. <$40 pre-tax for Giscours after all discounts.
FWIW, my final cart was 2x 2019 Giscours ($56) and 2x 2019 D’Issan ($60) plus a 2019 Saintayme ($20) for $252 pre-tax.
10% cashback with Rakuten on WDC. Now if only I had some more coupons to use…
Can’t believe I get to use FALL50 (50/400) coupon.
Got $419 Tondonia Blanco 2001, came down to under $300 after all the discounts.
Alright, 50roktwine for 50 off 200 plus 10% Rakuten cashback.
1 x 2019 d’Issan
1 x 2019 Giscours
1 x 2019 Phelan-Segur
1 x 2015 Latour-Martillac
$146 all in after cashback and coupon. WDC still an outstanding source for Bordeaux.
Interesting… I’ve used 50roktwine before, but it’s now active again for me.
Just noticed my Amex gold has a $30 off $100 at Wtso.
This alone combined with WDC’s response about how coveted the 2008 vintage is and how it’s impossible to find is enough for me to never buy from them again.
That might be an error… or not.
I messaged them about it to point it out and they said that “while it seemed high, the vintages were amazing and impossible to find anymore.”
