Best deal/coupon for on-line wine shopping

Is that you, Dennis?

I cancelled my stewardship just a few months back, and I don’t even check their site anymore. Prices are generally way too high without steep discounts.

Same.

I just find the whole thing odd. Prices are astronomical unless you leverage really good coupons and cash back deals where the pendulum swings to astronomical in the other direction. With the free shipping, shipping to PA, reasonably good selection out of NY warehouse, and easy to use app I would buy a ton from them if their prices were just reasonable.

(Note: I say odd, but completely understand the top line revenue, building a customer base, keeping investors happy side of an emerging business and why they cycled the coupons like they did.)

I missed the automatic renew in May, so I’ll have to leave myself a calendar reminder to cancel Stewardship in May of ‘23. I don’t see myself using it in the absence of discounts. That said, I’ve no regrets as I have gotten more than my money’s worth over time.

You can go into your profile and cancel it now so that it will not renew next year. You retain the benefit until that time.

I’m getting $10 off monthly with the American Express Gold card. But haven’t used it this month because I’ve been waiting for a coupon or Discount site to go above 1%.

I have Stewardship (until October) but still not motivated to purchase.

Wonder who is still buying?

I am buying cheaper wines that is competitive in price with other shops to take advantage of the free $10.

Good idea! Thanks!

All doom and gloom, but at some point again they will care more about revenue than profit. So theres a decent chance better codes and cashback will come back. Just a matter of when and how often. As others have stated, it might depend on the markets and VC money first. Guess we’ll see. Either way, we all made out for a while.

WDC does have some wines in the mix which are basically market-priced and could be good deals with a modest coupon and Stewardship shipping considered. However, without better coupons and/or cash back offers, there’s just far less impetus to limit myself to those and choose them versus other shops. I can still see myself making a couple more purchases with them before my stewardship renews in December, but barring some sort of change, it’s likely I’ll drop it at that point.

For a limited time,

take $20 off $100+

with code MISSYOU20.

This offer expires in 30 days.
I would say “it’s not you, it’s me” - but it really is them. Gimme some 33% coupons and cash back and we’ll talk.

Amex currently showing Mondavi, $50 off $150; same for The Prisoner; Total Wine $20 off $100.

And even that is a re-activation/re-use of an old code. So if you’ve used it before, no dice this time around.

With 1% Rakuten and weak discounts, the WDC run definitely seems to be dead. But those good deals were the whole impetus for paying for free shipping. And giving them my business. I may have wasted my re-up fee in April as I haven’t bought since well before that. I already canceled for next year, and at this rate I’m not throwing good money after bad just to get my shipping value. Oh well.

We’ll see what happens as the economy tanks, have to move that inventory

Feel the same here…renewed in May…and worse I have around $200 in gift cards already paid, just waiting to be used…but nothing…
Vivino is beating them with some promos, free shipment and 8% cashback…but its cumbersome to find the right wine to purchase…
Edit to add referral code of 10% to Vivino:

If you drink spirits, WDC is great - pricing is much sharper than wine (and that’s before applying promos)

My bolded addition is the problem with this one for me.
