Contino gran reserva for $33 is a steal

Contino over LdH?

Thanks for the tip, Keith. Just ordered one to try.

HOLIDAY50 is working again, 20 off 50.

+1 Pegau and Janasse (Chaupin @ $75 I might jump on), Saint Cosme Gigondas, Force Majeure, Tenet GSM, L’Aventure Optimus (usually needs a bit of age).

Very different wines but the Contino is priced sharply even before the coupon while the LdH’s are at market price or a few bucks over, so Contino definitely the win in coupon maximization terms

2018 Aalto Ribera Del Duero is a few bucks more than market price at WDC, but at $52 it is a good coupon candidate. High scores if you like the style.

Thanks for the code—I got lucky and snagged a bionic frog!

How? Doesn’t bionic frog end in .97 across the board?

I don’t know which Krut got but the '17 wasn’t.

Uccelliera Brunello di Montalcino 2016 seems to be well received and would be a good one for the offer with RMN cash back. I also picked up a Castello Romitorio Brunello di Montalcino 2016 yesterday with a 20/50.

I just picked up some more Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino 2016 which starts at a decent price of $79.99 (about $10 over WSP low) and Vinedos de Paganos El Puntido Gran Reserva 2007 at $54.99 with is getting really good reviews on CT right now so should be ready to drink.

I’ll second LdH – it’s hard to find a better deal on the Vina Tondonia than WDC with a 20/50 and 12% RMN.

I just tried the El Puntido 2007 last night. Personally, I’d take the LdH Tondonia, but depends on personal preference. The Puntido was bigger and rounder; the Tondonia is a bit more finessed.

Puntido gets good reviews because critics love that modern style of wine. It is not as good as the scores suggest, but maybe if you like your Rioja to taste like California.

Of course… Wineberserkers neener

CT-ers seem to prefer the Puntido as well:
2008 Lopez de Heredia Rioja Vina Tondonia Reserva CT Score 90.8
2007 Viñedos de Páganos Rioja Gran Reserva El Puntido CT Score 92.6

I mean, one of those will continue to improve over the next 20+ years and one likely won’t.

Disclaimer I have both of these bottles and bought for around the same price.

Regardless, if aggregate CT scores are going to be the basis of your buying decisions then there’s no point in arguing about it here.
