So as a follow up to my Raise saga, after numerous attempts to reach them via email and chat, with no response, they finally refunded my two invalid cards with a short generic “we’re sorry your card didn’t work” message. Still, that’s what I wanted, even if not the best CS, so all seemed to be well. Then several days after the refund they again charged my CC for the amount refunded on one of the cards. So again I sent messages to Raise to ask why this had happened, and again received no response. This time I simply disputed with AMEX.
Overall I found their CS to be terrible. I’ll probably continue to use them for the cashback cards, which have never had any problems. I definitely will not purchase discounted cards going forward.
Question for the Retail Me Not Wine.com cash back promo. Its says it is 12% right now, but it also says maximum reward of $50. Is that per transaction or the total you can get for the duration of the promo? Can you keep buying from Wine.com using separate purchases and re-using the cashback mechanic over and over as long as the cashback reward for each particular transaction does not exceed $50?
Correct. You can only use each coupon code once, but you can use RMN on multiple transactions, including same day, up to seven times per calendar month. RMN’s $50 limit is per transaction.
I didn’t use “FAQ” formatting, but most of these FAQs are answered in this post from a couple of pages ago:
Checking my Amex after purchasing from wineaccess, my single purchase was over $300, they credited $100. Guessing $50 for each $150. After the $50 off referral on sign up and this, getting two bottles of the 2007 Billecart BdB for $106/each
It seems like WDC has been ratcheting up their prices more than usual. I’ve seen a few in-stock bottles that had price increases last week (L’aventure, Columbis CdP, Muga, and others) which is a little unusual. The craziest example is the 2007 El Puntido gran reserva 2007 which has been available for a while in MD for $55/btl and was just released in CA for $135/btl. It also seems like the $50 off $150 promos are increasingly becoming $50 off $200+.
To me, it seems they ratchet up prices fairly routinely. If you see a good price, buy it, because they often increase with time.
Also, 2 orders placed in the summer, on the cusp of my stewardship expiring, had wines that were out of stock 2+ months later. But they sent me $50 off $50 promo codes. That suckered me into buying Stewardship again. I feel dirty.
If all goes well, you spent hours determining which wines have non rip-off prices, you actually get the wines you ordered and they didn’t ship it when it was 90+F, they are EXCELLENT prices.
LdH Riserva vs Vinedos Puntido Gran Riserva, I do not know. But if the poster in the LdH thread is correct about the new LdH Gran Riserva pricing, we will be paying a LOT more for LdH Gran Riservas when they next release. Like 2.4x more.
