A few people have inquired about auctions, sometimes I forget there are lots of new members signing up all the time, so here’s the FAQ
README Auction Rules, Regulations and Helpful Tips. Auctions Close 8pm PST README
- Auctions start at 2pm, close at 8:00pm PST / 11:00pm EST on January 30th.
- Forum software automatically locks the auction item and the last valid bid wins
- Bids are made by posting the dollar amount into the appropriate thread. No bids by PM, e-mail, or any other format.
- Valid Bids must increase by the minimum bid increment amount as stated in the auction. Typically $10. Big items may require larger bids and are highlighted, usually.
- Reserve price is stated in a few auctions, the winning bid must meet the reserve at a minimum
- Shipping is included on ALL auction items unless explicitly noted in auction. That means free. Bonus!!!
- You won, what now? You will be contacted by Todd for payment. Do not contact the winery/donor.
- How to receive your prize? After payment you will be placed in contact with the appropriate person to arrange shipping to your preferred location.
- Should issues, dependencies, or changes be needed the ruling of The Todd is final.
All Proceeds go to support the Wineberserkers website and attorney fees to defend your right to inflammatory posts in WineTalk!
Tip #1: Dear Snipers, you’re free to snipe but as soon as the forum locks the auction item it’s over.
Tip #2: Did you know you can automatically be notified when someone posts into a specific auction? Nice for watching specific item you’re interested in or have already bid on. Change the notification to “Watching”, see below.

Some excellent news: I just received an email from John Triosi - Karen Troisi’s husband - of Jean Edwards Cellars and they will be back for BerserkerDay 17! I don’t announce participating sellers, typically, but this deserves special recognition as John will be posting on her behalf (with her account/username), and I don’t want anyone freaking out that Karen has come back from the great beyond JUST to post on BerserkerDay (though, with as ‘berserker’ as Karen was, that’s possible!)

The 2011 Jean Edwards Oakville was the first BerserkerDay purchase I ever made - back in 2014. I loved it so much I left a note that Karen liked enough to send me a couple more. It was still singing last year! A 2011! Very happy to have another opportunity to support them.
