And while it’s only one data point, BD14 had 125 sellers, BD15 had 105 sellers (and a few extra in Monopole Cru only)…numbers were higher, in a (what most would say) weaker economy than the year just prior. Perhaps the ‘quality over quantity’ theory has real legs.
The wine economy is weaker, no question, but general economy is very good and consumer spending remains strong. We can get nervous when the consumers stop ringing up those credit cards!
The “Winecomony”?®
And for those (like my wife) whose preference in social media is LinkedIn, I posted this:
Updated the final announcement sales numbers with slight updates (as those DO come in) and, just for fun, the average seller total on BerserkerDay 15 is…
$20,133!
Congrats Todd et al! What a great result and record to break! Was a great year!
Only my 3rd BerserkerDay I’ve participated in, but by far the most appealing slate of sellers and offers, so no surprise the record was smashed! Kudos who all who were involved.
This is great to read, Jonathan, thank you. The quality over quantity method definitely seemed to work, just sucks to be the guy to have to say ‘no’ to those who aren’t invited
Lol, same to you! Weather turned beautiful here in Dallas, kids got off to school well, dogs are warm and cozy, wife getting over an illness, wins at work, and champagne and caviar last night. What’s not to love!
Just to provide another perspective, I have been participating since BDIII and a lot of this feedback is pretty subjective. I have rarely had a problem understanding an offer and never been disappointed that there were “too many deals”. Any questions have always been quickly addressed by the seller in the thread (e.g, code not working, wrong shipping charge). With a few exceptions, I haven’t had any problems buying the wine I wanted to; I run out of budget before I run out of wines to buy. I like to know the backstory on why someone is making the wine they are selling and if too long, it is easy to just scroll to the deal. It isn’t like a Last Bottle Marathon where you have buy within 60 seconds and many are extended for days afterward.
It is a wild and fun ride; keep the berserk in BerserkerDay! Thanks to Todd, Brig, and the rest of the crew for the effort to make it work so well. From nothing to $2M is pretty damn impressive!
Frenchonomics has a nicer ring.
Damn, I joined late to the party and missed BD15, will try next year. Congrats to all who made this happen!
Congrats and thank you for organizing BD XV. I ended up buying a little less than last year because I was traveling on the Friday and for all intents and purposes could only participate in the Monopole preview offers. Still a mind blowing bunch of offers. Great job!

Ed at Sandler leaves his offers up so I’d 100% buy this one now.
If you poke around there might be a few others and a PM with a “pretty please” works sometimes. Newbies too, check that.

[sandlerlogo] BerserkerDay XV 6 Packs and 4 Packs 30% Off w/ Free Shipping!!! It was 10 years ago, almost to the day, when I tried out my first BerserkerDay in 2014. Some things have changed over the years with BerserkerDay, but the one thing that has remained constant is that it is always an insane day, with offers popping up out of nowhere, so many good ones, some new, many familiar and several that I want to try. The two people who have helped me with my offers every year have also been c…
Better yet, get yourself on the mailing lists of the wineries that interest you. Many of them put out great offers to subscribers. For me, Vincent and Briceland come to mind (Vincent has a killer offer out right now) but I’m sure many of the others will have attractive offers out through the course of the year.
Yup, and I know some sellers, including a Newbie @LisaT are doing an additional discount for all those who purchased on BerserkerDay for her mailing list…smart
What about the median? I’m sure there are some outliers dragging this number down
Waiting
Hi @YuriyA, my BSK15 coupon is still valid. I had to change some of the offer bundles because I am running out of wine, which is a great problem to have.
Flying over to Germany in March to restock and buy more Riesling!
@ToddFrench Yes, offering some specials for those who ordered!
For those you want to drink like a German all year round, I offer a wine club as well with the wines I am importing

My feedback would be I think the MC/GCC Preview Day purchase offers are enough to keep that group busy on Preview Day. The only preview they should get for the BD offers is the names of the Producers.
Just quick (I’ll TRY) producer perspective here, based on a really tough BD for me–girl who is normally ON TOP OF IT, and MUCH more fun when we’re live–Greg’s idea is fine as long as ALL BUYERS ALLOWED TO PURCHASE on PREVIEW DAY can see ALL offers by BERSERKER BUSINESS MEMBERS so the BB producer doesn’t get 30+ duplicate orders… To be precise, a MC needs to be able to LEAVE THAT CART OPEN after dropping in his MC bundle, then top up his 6pak, or full case, with that same producer’s tasty “regular” BDay and GCC Preview Day offers designed to pair with the MC offer. Multiple orders needing reversing, consolidating, refunding whatever you want to call it = hell for a small business who can’t keep up with unique fixes, going into admin/fix/IT mode instead of bantering and adding color to the offer, being PRESENT for the viewers all day… I for one got no silly fun on EITHER DAY. Or for a week after because buried reversing double shipping charges, explaining that shipping is per box, and 9 bottles = 2 boxes, etc., eliminating duplicate orders, blah blah blah.
PLEASE remember for a small producer to survive, any CHANGES to an order MUST be made by 5pm THAT day before the cc processor batches 'em out, takes their 5+% toll. If a refund is needed, that same 5%+ set of fees that get y’all 2% back, free stuff, airline miles, etc. applies on the $$ refunded back to you, too. No “just delete/refund this one and start over, what I really want is …” Ouch. COMBINED, that’s 10%+ cost on an “order” with no associated revenue.
You want producers to be able to offer the BEST DEAL POSSIBLE. Right? My orders for BD15 were EXTREMELY messy; this has never happened before in a dozen happy BerserkerDays I’ve enjoyed… I’m still digging out of the hole
Another option might just be to do MC deals another day?? There’s enough going on with 100+ BD offers? Or some solid education to MC’s that producers also have regular offers, please leave your carts open until you take a look at the BD offers intended to PAIR with the MC deal. I put a DIRECT LINK. Didn’t really help. Only a few MC’ers managed to follow it or get there another way and put in a combined order.
Just thoughts and perspective from the other side! Hugs to all! Cuz I need one
