BD15 Delivered and Drunk

Today, for the second day in a row, I got a bunk “we attempted delivery” notification. C’mon, I’m basically sitting next to my front door, no way I missed a delivery attempt.

I live in the city, I’m not in a meeting, and I’m due for a walk anyways. From the end of my block I can see the FedEx truck about three blocks away. I didn’t have to chase it down, but I walk up and wait for the delivery driver. He’s got something for my address and seems super stressed, way too may packages to deliver. I now realize this guy must be skipping deliveries—entire blocks of deliveries probably!—on busy days and marking them as failed attempts.

Anyways, that’s my long-winded way of sharing that I delivered a case of Goodfellow wines to myself this afternoon. Four blocks doesn’t sound like a lot, but it’s way too many blocks to carry a case of wine! Will let the bottles rest, but I’m sure it’ll have been worth it.

The 2021 Anderson Family was the 2nd of the three bottlings we did if it (2019, 21, 22). Unique site in the Dundee Hills that is wired to be less overtly fruited and more unusually tannic for the AVA which fits into our wheelhouse. Combo of Pommard, Wadensvil and 667. Really terrific in 2021.

Drinking the 2021 Anderson Family tonight. So expressive, both on the nose and palate. Like every 2021 I’ve tried, this one is packed full of goodness. I keep waiting for a 2021 that, to me, seems to be “shutting down,” but so far I am stoked to say it ain’t happened yet!! Wonderful wine, Jim - thank you!!

Nice note! Thanks so much. Hard to go wrong with the 2021s. Then again same with 2022s and 2023s. The 21 AF really was nice though the whole way start to finish. Interesting vineyard especially by Dundee Hill standards.

Current best way to contact me/LaddCellars for BD15 questions is by phone, call/message or text, to the number in your invoice. Please Please don’t anyone post my number anywhere tho. But if you have a question/issue/whatever, please text me or leave a vmail , this will save both of us time in the long run!

If you text me, please please put BD15 in the text…otherwise I won’t see it…if you do, I will see it and will respond fairly quickly.

I’m shipping south to north (warmer to cooler is more accurate) and I’ll be able to get everything out and arrive in good condition.
Unfortunately my website blowup in Feb put me behind the eightball since.

I talked to Eric Lundblad a couple days ago; he’s a one-man shop and is working through the shipments asap. One thing Eric mentioned is the challenge of threading the shipping needle. He had a batch of boxes ready to go to one part of the country, but had to do a 180 and ship elsewhere due a change in the forecast.

Anyway, if you need to reach Eric, send him a text. The number should be on your BD15 invoice. Email is not a good form of communication, as it sounds like he’s on the hunt for a new email address in addition to firing his website host.

Disclosure: I sometimes help Eric with BerserkerDay stuff and he sometimes adds to / upgrades my BerserkerDay order.

I have a BD15 order that has taken forever to ship due what I perceive as an incompetent fulfillment center that finally shipped out this Tuesday and today I got a UPS email that my shipment is delayed due to a train derailment. Seems that train derailments are becoming a common thing for UPS.

Opened a 2021 Pezzato I Nonni Cabernet Sauvignon tonight and it’s fantastic. This was a MC only BD15 offer. I only bought a 2 pack but need to see about getting more.

It’s definitely on the young side and can use more time but dark fruited and velvety right now. My wife is a tough critic and she likes it a lot. I would hold if you don’t plan on buying more like I now have to.

Marc: That Primitivo is a beautiful wine…but esp with air. I double decant it in the morning of (I use a 2cup pyrex measuring cup for the double decant, the pyrex pours perfectly back into the bottle (I pour back mid-day)!

Opened a 2019 Black Powder Oakville Cab and a 2019 Chiron Mountain Reserve this evening. Fantastic Cabs especially at the price of $40 and $50 a bottle respectively. I won’t hesitate to buy Bobby’s wines at the next BD.
