Anyone pulling the trigger on RWC Conterno wine glass offer?

I have never used the glass before but am very intrigued. Any impressions? May go for a four pack. Expensive, but probably will never be any cheaper.

Thanks in advance,

Greg

Would anyone be willing to snap a pic of this thing next to a Zalto or Grassl for perspective?

Worth it. I bought 2 last year and love them for aromatic reds.

Here is the Grassl Cru, Conterno and Zalto Burgundy, left to right.

The Cru weighs 3.45 oz, Conterno 4.45 oz and Zalto 4.8 oz.

I picked up two a couple of years ago to try. They collect dust in my cabinet. To each his own though, it’s really personal preference.

What’s the offer?

Dishwasher safe?

The offer is free shipping and

$175 for a 2-pack of glasses
$300 for a 4-pack of glasses

For anyone that still patronizes Vins Rare, they have them at $160/2 with free shipping.

Was this taken around Halloween?

Looks remarkably like my favorite stem at the moment, a quite thin, durable Bohemia Crystal “Tulipa.”

I paid $12.99 a six-pack at Home Goods.

The Conterno has more junk in the trunk.

I received two last year as a birthday present. Really like them a lot. Particularly for nebbiolo, but I have found them quit good for almost everything. I still use a Riedel Syrah glass for Rhones, and sometimes the Riedel Somm Burgundy for Pinot. I love the Grassls for whites, and occassionally use them for whites.

I have put the Conternos in the dishwasher with no problem.

I really like them, but not sure if they are worth the premium – which is what made them a great gift.

to me, the conterno glass is the one to rule them all. the weight and balance are perfect. no idea how, but the tulip shape really makes the nose jump. the one on the right in my photo which is possessed by the devil is a prototype (?) from Glasvin. a bit bigger than the conterno, but just as thin and balanced perfectly.

Hey David, as long as Glasvin is branching out, how 'bout a nice retro styled tulip like the one Jacques Seysses is brandishing in the pic from William Kelley’s 1980 burgundy article?
