A fun little quest...how do you explain what Wine Berserkers is?

I started off on the Prodigy BB over 30 years ago when that BB and the AOL wine BB were the only choices available. The following quotes are what differentiate the current BB from the evolution of Prodigy to Mark Squires and to the current BB.

A"nd I’ll end with it has its share of troublemaker students. But its a place where even the problem-children, neurodiverse and ADHD kids are welcome and contribute to the overall experience. LOL"

“It’s a place where free-speech and differing opinions create camaraderie like only wine can do.”

“Basically, Mark Squires named it…” Mark had little or no tolerance to the above. We understand that the love of wine comes in all shapes, sizes, religions and political affiliations as well as different tastes in wine. Social media and cable news have been polarizing forces in society but this BB is open to everyone. :grinning:

I think it’s fairly tame compared to the earliest days.

Wine Berserkers is a place for high level wine community in an interactive forum that encourages collaboration and detailed discussion. This type of environment creates trust and a sharing of knowledge between users. Businesses use it as a tool to access a purchasing audience that generally has a larger disposable income than the general buying public.

Take that back, Shawnda can do no wrong!

Nothing to take back, you called her out, publicly, and essentially called her stupid.

I’m telling.

Shockingly, Fu is in sales!! (perhaps caviar pitches work that way?)

“stupid”-crazy-awesome. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Sheesh, geeks are so literal! I mean I love you all, but sometimes you make me want to poke my eye out with a pin metaphor

That’s how they get you, Paul. Don’t fall for it. It’s love bombing. LOL!

Fun experiment: go to ChatGPT and ask it things like:

  • what is WineBerserkers;
  • why would a winemaker be interested in participating in WineBerserkers.com; or
  • give me ad copy for WineBerserkers.

My prompt: Write a script for a 30-second TV commercial for the Wine Berskerkers Forum, in the style of a 1970s beer commercial.

Chat GPT’s output:

[Scene opens with a group of friends gathered around a table, laughing and clinking glasses filled with wine.]

[Upbeat rock music starts playing in the background, as the camera zooms in on a man with a bushy mustache, wearing a colorful patterned shirt and bell-bottom pants, holding a wine glass.]

Mustachioed Man: “Hey there, fellow wine lovers! Are you tired of the same old wine snobbery? Then it’s time to join the Wine Berskerkers Forum!”

[Cut to a close-up of a woman with big curly hair and a wide-brimmed hat, swirling a glass of red wine.]

Curly-Haired Woman: “That’s right! Wine Berskerkers is the grooviest online community for wine enthusiasts who are all about good vibes, good times, and great wine!”

[Quick shots of friends clinking glasses, pouring wine, and enjoying a feast of delicious food.]

Mustachioed Man: “And the best part? It’s totally free to join, man!”

[Cut to a group of friends dancing and celebrating with bottles of wine in hand, while the rock music reaches a crescendo.]

Rockin’ Voiceover: “So, if you’re ready to break free from the stuffy wine scene and join a community that’s all about passion, flavor, and fun, head on over to Wine Berskerkers Forum!”

[The screen fades to black, and the Wine Berskerkers Forum logo appears, accompanied by the tagline “Wine Lovers Unite!”]

Rockin’ Voiceover: “Wine Berskerkers Forum. Where wine lovers let their hair down and raise a glass to the good life! Cheers, baby!”

[The commercial ends with a shot of friends clinking glasses and laughing, as the rock music fades out.]

[Voiceover disclaimer at the bottom of the screen: “Must be 21 or older to join. Drink responsibly.”]

[End of commercial.]

Editorial commentary - My recollection of 1970s beer commercials conjures up a lot fewer hippies saying “groovy” and “man” and more NFL stars and mountain streams but it’s not half bad.

omg this is extraordinary!!!

I did a boring one, ‘explain Wine Berserkers to someone who doesn’t know what it is’

Wine Berserkers is an online community of wine enthusiasts who are passionate about sharing their love for wine, learning about different varieties and styles of wine, and connecting with like-minded people. The community was founded in 2008 by a group of avid wine collectors and has since grown into a vibrant online forum where members can discuss everything related to wine, from tasting notes and wine reviews to vineyard visits and winemaking techniques.

The name “Wine Berserkers” is a nod to the Viking warriors who were known for their fierce fighting and partying, as well as their appreciation for fine wine. Members of the community share this same passion for wine, and are known for their willingness to go to great lengths to acquire rare and hard-to-find bottles, as well as their dedication to exploring lesser-known regions and varietals.

If you’re interested in learning more about wine, sharing your own experiences and insights, or simply connecting with other wine lovers, Wine Berserkers is a great place to start. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or just starting out, there’s something for everyone in this passionate and welcoming community.

WineBerserkers is a disease that is usually quite a pleasant one and is not possible to beat.

No need to over-think it, imo.

WB is the largest, most active on-line wine community/forum. That we use our real names might be the most important feature- keeps it civil & the people full of $hit away.
