LOL, yes, that may be part of it 
For me it is a combination of the 2023 Napa vintage, 2020 and 2022 Bordeaux and then a newfound love for Italian wines. Not planning on this continuing…will evaluate which Napas to continue buying and then 2023 -2025 Bordeaux won’t be as tempting. Thankfully I have now stocked up!

I’m buying less for pretty much precisely the opposite of the reasons you’ve listed. Except the easier to get allocations part. That’s true.
- Need to replace some stuff after buying very little for 2-3 years.
- Have some space in the cellar. Nature, meet vacuum.
- Wife said buy more Oregon Pinot Noir.
- Saw some good prices.
- Madness, sheer madness.

222 bottles here- but most of that is 2023 and 2024 Bordeaux. I really liked the pricing and the vintage impressions/tasting notes I saw from trusted sources, and so that I am planning that to be my last big buy - along with 22 burgs which are now done and in- before I move fully into backfill mode when, and if, needed.
