2025 Fall Wine Purchases

Maybe we need to start a cellar expansion thread to counter the cellar reduction one.

About 30 cases incoming here. Shit.

I don’t add incoming to CT just to make me feel better about my decisions.

I’m calling the 107 bottles I have coming to my home ‘study materials’ for the WSET 3.

That’s what I always tell my wife! I’m not drinking, I’m studying!

Sadly I’m back into 4 figures pending delivery now with all the wine sitting across the pond awaiting a more favorable tariff situation. Then again if I call that “offsite storage” I’m closer to 500.

That’s what I do!

You guys are making me feel a whole lot better.

This is the exact same for me being in TX. After February I’m out of luck until basically early November for shipping . But let me tell ya when November hits it’s glorious when the deliveries arrive :laughing::laughing:

About 20 cases to be delivered this fall… to be fair about 8 of which were purchased in Dec/Jan loading up pre-tariff

I fear I’d forget about and possibly never receive wines I have at certain retailers that are never in a rush to ship if I didn’t track incoming…

106 - first shipment from a localish shop arriving today!

First shipment landed last week, timed perfectly with unseasonably cool weather. 45 bottles pending, with maybe one more release coming.

I’m not even going to bother counting at this point. I will figure it out when they get here. My buying number is significantly down from previous years though.

I have so many, over 100, that I am not putting them in Cellartracker anymore. Def going to be better next year when this 2023 release is over.

Why are people who are buying more wines than over the last few years buying more:

Bought less during Covid and finally ready to get back to enjoying life.
Had too much wine, drandk more, bought less and now have right-sized cellars.
Prices down???
Stock market up or making more money from job.
Others not buying making it easier to get allocations.
Other reasons.

Combination of making more, fewer expenses (no longer have child care expense) and realizing my boys will be driving soon, then college, and other expenses will be going up, so buy now while I can.

So, the fact that they will be driving soon is driving you to drink? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Well, been there, done that.

Buying less, new house with a much higher mortgage and a generally very full cellar. Cherry picking what I want instead of adding based on talk, excitement, scores, etc. Also paying much more attention to overall spend in general.
