17 Signs You're a Wine Snob (article by Chantal Martineau made into a poll)

I’m guessing that it means not a car payment, but the entire purchase of a car. Obviously a year’s worth of wine is nowhere NEAR one single payment!

There are three who buy on points? I think I need the [smileyvault-ban.gif] command handy…

I can be suckered by points from time to time. I think if I was on the fence and then I see a massive number come in with a review, it can sway me a little bit.

I love the avatar!!

If you add my car payments to the associated insurance, then you are close to even with wine and cars, but that just accounts for the list purchases, not casual retail buys.

Only 8, 16, and 17 for me.

8 because I had to stop buying for a few years, and I am rebuilding.
16 is an exaggeration of me - but I do get antsy for my turn with the list. [wow.gif]
17 - I prefer not to see which is higher. Are we talking one car or both? [shock.gif]

I amended number 17, as I don’t think there’s a single person who likes wine who spends in a year what a single car payment is.

Yes, reading #17:

  1. Your annual wine budget is on par with your car payments. And you have absolutely no problem with that.

I think it meant the annual wine budget sum versus the annual car payment sum. That is how I took it.

Todd,

You should probably at #19 Have any wine related tattoos (such as your AFWE knuckle ink)

Don’t judge.

The bowl grip kills me.

It annoys me slightly, but what kills me is lotion-ized hands with finger and hand prints ALL OVER THE BOWL, particularly when they are my stems and I have to wash that nastiness. I drink from the exact same spot on my glass the entire time, and typically do at least one full wipedown of the one spot during the span.

I hate when the wine/lip residue collects around the rim. Drives me nuts. Looks dirty. I catch myself wiping the glass often.

I do that a lot…catch and correct myself quite a bit.

Only 7,8,10, 14, and 17 apply to me and I’m still scared… :open_mouth:

People have been beaten for less. Watch yo back, fool!

Fewest thus far is bringing wine on a plane, oddly enough…

I don’t think most airlines carry Zalto stems. Maybe in first class. [cheers.gif]

The plane question was too specific. I regularly check wine, but no carry-on 3-oz bottles so I couldn’t tick that box.

Budget? What wine budget? Quicken tells me my only category bigger than wine is taxes.

I find it easy to ignore fingerprints and lipstick on someone else’s glass. What I can’t ignore, and I’m surprised it didn’t make the list, is perfume or any other strong fragrance at the table.

I once brought 2 - 3oz plastic bottles of really good wine that i filled up to put in my quart bag, and it just wasn’t worth it at 36K feet. Rather bring really good booze.

I’m ready for TSA to let us bring back 750ml wine bottles back on!!! Let’s get this shitty travel party started!
