I can be suckered by points from time to time. I think if I was on the fence and then I see a massive number come in with a review, it can sway me a little bit.
If you add my car payments to the associated insurance, then you are close to even with wine and cars, but that just accounts for the list purchases, not casual retail buys.

It annoys me slightly, but what kills me is lotion-ized hands with finger and hand prints ALL OVER THE BOWL, particularly when they are my stems and I have to wash that nastiness. I drink from the exact same spot on my glass the entire time, and typically do at least one full wipedown of the one spot during the span.
The plane question was too specific. I regularly check wine, but no carry-on 3-oz bottles so I couldn’t tick that box.
Budget? What wine budget? Quicken tells me my only category bigger than wine is taxes.
I find it easy to ignore fingerprints and lipstick on someone else’s glass. What I can’t ignore, and I’m surprised it didn’t make the list, is perfume or any other strong fragrance at the table.
I once brought 2 - 3oz plastic bottles of really good wine that i filled up to put in my quart bag, and it just wasn’t worth it at 36K feet. Rather bring really good booze.
