001 Vintners 2020 Cabernet Release 9/17/24

I asked Jack about specific pick dates and the response was that Graeme picks earlier than most (but no dates given) and that’s also the reason why there is no PV in the blend for ‘20 since its a later ripening varietal.

I have no reason not to trust them but take it for what it’s worth. I did not buy the ‘20 (for several reasons) but I did buy ‘19. While I loved the bottle I tried and would likely buy ‘21 if offered, I wouldnt be hurt if I wasn’t offered an allocation.

Here are some photos I took. You can see the different colors of some of the varietals (Merlot and cab franc in the middle)

Also around one side is the vineyard you can see some signs of fire.

Must not be going so well, they started texting me to make sure to place my order before it closes…

ditto

yep

I bought into the 2020 for two reasons.

  1. I still had room in the budget (most of my fall release purchases have already been accounted for)
  2. The main reason- I wanted access to 2021 and future releases.

If anyone in the Dallas area wants to try a 2020, I’d be happy to part with one.

I also passed on this release. Was concerned about potential smoke taint and already have plenty of other wine, so no FOMO here.

Also have not tried the 2019 yet and don’t think it will be that hard to purchase the 2021s if I decide I like the 2019s.

Cheers.

I texted back asking for a coupon code, no dice.

same here

I recently had this and like your note - Very drinkable now (of course - I drank this 20 months after your note). Really quite an impressive wine and a relative “value” in todays market albeit prices are bending down.
