Great event indeed. Thanks Todd, Frank and Brad for organizing it. Now I need to buy some Mousse to try.
Also from Copenhagen many warm thanks to Todd, Frank, Brad and Cedric for organizing this spectacular event
I appreciate that it was an evening CET Champagne event. Beautiful pictures from Cuisles
My 2014 Les Fortes Terres was great and will surely be greater this evening.

Thanks again for setting this up. It was really fantastic. I learned a lot and got an inside look from the winemaker that was a one of a kind experience for me.
Nice pics
Thank you so much for making this happen.
Fun and informative. Cedric was a terrific guest, or was he more the host? Presenter?
It was touching how he honored his family and dad with the red wine barrel, and the description of his methods was very informative. From his “toys” through the whole sulphur explanation, I learned a lot more than I expected.
The sun seemed like it was still pretty high in the sky for 7:00 pm, but lattitude counts, I guess.
I had a hard stop at 10:55 to attend a wedding, which was also on Zoom, and am looking forward to watching the recording…
I have never had a bad wine from Flavien Nowack. Flavien is doing really good things with his vines and has a small range of cuvees from Vandieres and Chatillon-sur-Marne (two villages that Cedric Mousse also has vines in). I think the the three single variety, single plot wines that he makes are the best place to start - La Fontinette (Pinot Meunier from Chatillon-sur-Marne), Les Bauchets (Pinot Noir from Vandieres), and Tuilerie (Chardonnay from Vandieres). His Les Arpents Rouge which is a single plot wine from Vandieres that blends Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier is also top notch though tougher to locate than the other three I mentioned.
Here’s the video - I suggest everybody watch it, even those who were on the session. Makes me want to do a BerserkerFest out there!
Again, thanks Frank, Brad and Todd for putting together a awesome event! Keep them coming!
Thanks!
Todd, that video is legit bitchen. What a cool 90 mins this was with Cedric and Brad. The Anti-19 tonic I really needed, and so many others, too.

Tremendous. The interaction before it officially starts is great. A dude on a Segway with his chickens overlooking the champagne valley full of vineyards.
Excellent work
I think pretty much all the producers Cedric mentioned as his favorites were mentioned above with the exception of two. He referenced Jerome Prevost and also Alexandre Le Brun (from Monthelon) who has some very old Meunier vines; Alexandre only makes one pure Meunier cuvee so far, but he is still young and transforming the range. There also were also mentions of Jacquesson for their DT series and Egly Ouriet for their VP (extended lees aged cuvee), but not specific to Meunier.
Though Egly also does a Meunier Champagne - Vignes de Vrigny

Which is darn good too and fairly priced… especially when you look at the rest of the Egly range.
Yep. It’s the one I buy the most of.
Thanks Brad, David, and Frank for the information on additional Meunier producers!
Cheers,
Hal
Late to the THANK YOU party - but man, did my wife and I really enjoy that. I have such a deep appreciation for Frank for helping to put that together and of course to Cedric for his time. Just awesome. Hope we can many more!!!
Ended up consuming 3x Mousse Fils over the weekend as result - just couldn’t help myself. The rose effusion especially - once Cedric showed and talked about the red wine solara used for the effusion - i had to go back in for a taste! Awesome stuff.

I noticed no references to Champange de Meric re Meunier wines and fondly recall the 2002 Cuvee Renée, produced from 100% biodynamically grown Pinot Meunier farmed by Francois Bedel.
I know you know this Brad, but for some of the others who may not, Champagne de Meric is AKA Daniel Ginsburg after one of the principals who passed in 09`.
Blake,
I used to love a number of de Meric wines especially the Catherine de Medicis. Since Daniel Ginsburg passed, I don’t hear much about them. I know that the wines were handled by Champagne Leclaire-Thiefaine after Daniel passed and were registered as being made by the Chamapgne house Baron Martin in Ay (which just happened to exist at the same address de Meric was located and was also owned by the Ginsburgs), but Baron Martin ceased being a business in 2014. I have no idea if the wines are still being made at all let alone in clasic Ginsburg/de Meric style or if the remaining stock of Ginsburg that we see is the end of the line.
Cedric could have named a number of other produers, but kind of stuck mostly to his area of the Marne Valley. He didn’t touch on the Coteaux sud d’Epernay where Jose Michel has made legendary Pinot Meuneirs and he didn’t hit on Rene Collard in Reuil either. There are lots of good ones out there.

Brad, I got to thinking, I haven’t seen any Ginsburg/ de Meric for some time and my post was most likely out of date. I have seen a 2004, but no other. Here’s a bit I found: “De Méric (NM), a producer founded in 1960 by Christian Besserat, the year after the family had sold their Champagne house Besserat de Bellefon (located in Épernay and today part of the Lanson-BCC group). In 1997, the company was sold to American businessman Daniel E. Ginsburg, and in 2009 Reynald Leclaire took over. Annual production is about 50 000 bottles.”
